GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING
Had to terminate my lease early due to unforseen circumstances. Was told I had to pay $400 for terminating the lease early and that I would get paperwork to my forwarding address.
Fast forward a few weeks, no paperwork.
I call Citron about getting the paperwork and Mindy answers. She told me that since they were able to rent out my apartment immediately after I left, I didn't owe anything and could call corporate to get my refund back since the apartment was in perfect shape.
A couple weeks later, I call corporate and they tell me that I OWE THEM THE $400 that Mindy told me they had waived. Only now, I have five less weeks to pay it off.
No extensions.
No empathy.
No apologies for the confusion.
An unexpected charge like that, in THIS economy? Kind of stuff puts people on the streets. Derails lives.
I can't be the only person who has dealt with Mindy's rudeness and incompetence there. Maintenance requests never got forwarded, never had the answer to the few questions I did ask and didn't even know the rent of the unit I had until six months in.
BUT, I back my truck into a parking spot for about three seconds and Mindy comes storming out of the office, yelling about how California law states we can't back into parking spots because they don't have front plates.
This is Nebraska. We have front plates.
If you live here, the maintnenance guys are cool as hell and will help you promptly. The manager even seems like a good dude. Neighbors were always quiet, friendly and considerate.
However, if you call the office and Mindy picks up, ask for ANYONE else or you're wasting your time.

this place is very unprofessional. i put in an application in early december and then got approved. i then called every single day their office was open. after 8am and before 5pm. no answer. i’ve emailed multiple times. no answer. i’ve left voice messages. still no answer. then i call about a week ago and someone named Tony told me that there is a studio available and that i need to turn in my $100 money order for my 2 week hold. i called the day i was supposed to turn it in and was told by the new property manager, Patrice, mind you she had me call 3 times in one day because she couldn’t get into her own system? anyways she told me i have to pay another $35 for another application because mine expired. how come no one answered the phone to tell me that? update me on anything? how come i was told by Tony that i can come on that day and turn in my money order so it DOESN’T interfere with the 45 days. they are super unprofessional and do not know what they’re doing honestly. it’s sad that they’re messing with peoples life’s and don’t even know it nor care.. anyways this should be your LAST resort. (ps i have all the call logs, voice messages and emails i’ve left and still nothing.)
