I've hesitated making this review for quite some time now, but after being gone from this apartment complex going on 5 months now, it was very evident that their unresolved & neglected mold issue was the cause of my decline in health and medical issues. Unfortunately google will only allow so many words, so I'm gonna try and sum it up the best I can . I moved in July of 2024 and within 10 days, I immediately heard dripping water coming from the water heater and AC closet. Herby stopped by, "fixed it" and never followed up, even tho it looked like black mold build up and water stains from a prior ongoing issue. I trusted he knew what he was doing. My first mistake. Fast forward to February of 2025 is when I started noticing my health declining and medical complications arising that I had never experienced prior. I couldn't figure out why & continued to decline, causing me so much inflammation, pain, and emotional grief that I wouldn't ever wish upon anyone. July of 2025 is when I started noticing a pungent, disgusting wet dog smell and I would periodically hear dripping coming from the closet, but was told it was potentially a faulty AC & that it was just normally draining any condensation build up. My ac was being faulty so I took maintenance word until... I looked behind the water heater again, discovering more black mold growth, water stains, and more pungent smells. I was dealt a very heavy burden of being put out of work and bedridden for over 2 whole months, having to resign from my well paying job due to my health decline, and the emotional turmoil that it affected with my personal life that was one of the heaviest things I had to experience.. Words can't even begin to describe that kind of grief.. Since being out, I had noticed a steady increase of the betterment of my health all around. Simply; the amount of gaslighting I experienced from Herby and the maintenance manager (can't remember his name) was ridiculous. Being lied to in front of my face, trying to go around me and cover their tracks, and putting my health at risk. I had to fight tooth and nail for maintenance to do their job properly, in a timely manner, and being the one who had to continously reach out for resolutions and answers since they were clearly avoiding me. Of course I kept log of everything and their reasonings and work ethic were completely contradicting and horrible. The only maintenance guy that was decent and wasnt even in on the loop until they made him do a mold test (because they didnt want to hear me gripe- I knew they could sense I was getting fed up) was the only decent gentleman in that maintenance crew who actually seemed to care about his job and results of his work. He was a younger guy with curly hair and blue eyes I believe. Penny was helpful getting me approved initially as well as was professional and nice whenever discussing the issue with me, as well as helped me get my deposit back, but out of the entire situation that occured, it definitely could've been handled so much better than what I was dealt. I can only conclude that unit was patched over with fresh paint and leased out to the next unfortunate tenants. Aside from the chaos I was dealt unwillingly, I was saddened I had no other option but to leave. Not a horrible community with the location, neighbors and layout, but definitely risky for sure health wise. Make sure to inspect thoroughly before signing those papers, and hold staff accountable. Just because I'm a younger women does not make me naive as they'd hope. Maybe they can get more maintenance members who actually care.
