Unsafe, Unresponsive, and Overpriced – Rent Here at Your Own Risk
Unfortunately, the experience has been far from what we expected, especially considering the premium rent of over $2000 a month.
From the beginning, we’ve faced significant safety concerns. The building is open to the public, and we regularly encounter homeless individuals sleeping in our hallways and stairwells. There have been multiple break-ins in the mailroom with mail and packages stolen, and cars in the parking garage have had tires slashed. It’s unsettling to come home to this every day, and the management, Centric, does little to address these issues, despite them directly affecting the residents.
Additionally, the fire alarms are frequently pulled at all hours of the night, forcing us to stand outside in the freezing cold—this is North Dakota, where winters get brutal. It’s not just inconvenient, it’s unsafe. Yet, Centric brushes it off and takes no responsibility for preventing this from happening again.
Downtown Fargo has also become unsafe, with regular police and fire department activity, people passed out on the curb from overdoses, and verbal harassment from individuals on the streets whenever we leave the building. Some of these same people smoke in our hallways, and even though there are cameras, nothing is ever done about it.
To add to the frustration, when we decided to move out, the property manager, Blake, was unprofessional and unresponsive, delaying communication to facilitate a conversation with a supervisor to work out a solution. It's been over a week and Katie, the supervisor has yet to return my phone call.
I don’t usually write reviews, but if you’re considering living here, I urge you to think twice. The combination of safety issues, lack of management support, and the general state of downtown makes this a place I cannot recommend, especially at this price point.
Update: when we moved out we had a team of 8 people clean our apartment from top to bottom, the place was spotless, and they still charged is a cleaning fee.
