- EKEugene KinneyNov 27, 20251.0I bought a new double wide from them in the beginning of 2024 and it took until late September of 2024 for them to deliver the home to my property. And I was finally able to move in, in the middle of October. At first the customer service was ok, and then I had to keep emailing and calling the store manager to get anything done. He informed me that the sales man I bought the home through was fired for poor customer service. But the build quality of the home itself is very poor, I have crooked walls, trim that is not secured properly and a lot of other issue's with the build quality itself. And everyone they sent out was in what seemed to be a hurry to get in and out as fast as possible. You can see the lines in the ceiling of every piece of sheet rock, trim has obvious nails that were not seated properly or did not even go into anything that would hold them in place so the trim is now coming loose all through the home. They didn't even install my storm door on the front of the home and when I asked them too, they said "that not our responsibility". My screen for my sliding door was the same answer. I would NOT recommend anything built by Clayton homes/Oakwood homes to anyone. And on top of that, I had to call out a HVAC company to come check out my unit for freezing up and they told me that I only have a 2 ton unit (for 1800 square ft) when the bare minimum for my homes square footage should at least be a 3.5 ton unit. I have complained about the lack of air flow out of my vents since I moved in and was told it's a "eco unit" and it's working properly by Spell heating and air that installed it. AGAIN, I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYTHING BUILT BY CLAYTON HOMES AT ALL.
