i made a review ~1 week ago about the excessive fire alarms. at the time, there was another 1-star review about the fire alarms**, as well as a 1-star review with no comments. since then it looks like ~someone~ has deleted them or gotten them removed.
Just this sunday the fire alarms went off AGAIN.
suspiciously i went to check out the Edge's reviews and their negative reviews about the fire alarms have been deleted too.
**after i read this comment about the Edge residents getting $100 off their february rent, i asked around and this is true but they also got 2 saturdays of chick-fil-a breakfasts, yet Brinkley residents just get to constantly evacuate.
let's see if this review gets suspiciously deleted

I’ve lived at The Brinkley for almost a year and can say I’ve really enjoyed my experience thus far! The biggest thing that has made the difference for me is management; Marsh Properties has gone above and beyond other rental companies I’ve experienced in Charlotte (looking at you, MAA and Greystar). I’ve seen them make updates based on feedback they receive; I remember seeing someone say that they were dissatisfied with the package room being disorganized and not having a fridge— the package room now has a fridge and shelving according to level. They’ve also already taken the time to do regular maintenance like touching up hallway paint, despite the building only being a little over a year old. When there was an issue with someone breaking into the parking garage spy-movie-style (no actually, they shimmied up some gates), they did a good job of making sure we were aware. We also have a courtesy officer that I’ve seen around the property on multiple occasions, which makes me feel safe. It’s also in a pretty safe neighborhood, so that helps!
In terms of our actual apartment, we’ve had the typical quirks you expect when you rent (including someone forgetting to turn on water to our washing machine before we moved in), but overall we cannot hear our next door neighbors and generally feel pretty safe. Maintenance gets done quickly and professionally. The only negative we’ve experienced is if your upstairs neighbor has heavy footsteps you likely will hear them, since none of the apartments come carpeted. Overall, we’re very happy with our choice to live here!
We moved into The Brinkley in April 2025. The building appealed to us for its proximity to Uptown, shopping, the Blue Line train, and the Rail Trail. Many Southend attractions are within walking distance. The area is relatively quiet, disturbed only occasionally by traffic noise typical for living in the city (sirens, motorcycles, etc.)
Marsh Properties keeps The Brinkley clean and operating smoothly. They are quick to respond to repairs in both common areas and individual units. The office staff are professional, friendly and always available to help answer questions or process work requests.
Unit materials and finishes are high quality; the Whirlpool appliances are good. The electronic entry system app is limited in scope and lacks the flexibility of a typical "Butterfly" system. Unit door locks operate only with a physical key fob.
The pool is small, but the surrounding patio is a pleasant space to hang out in. The wide variety of common spaces -- smaller work rooms, an indoor/outdoor terrace, courtyard, lobby seating and conference rooms -- give tenants additional spaces for work or entertaining. The Fitness Center is well equipped and open 24 hours.
Marsh will begin demolition of existing structures and building of new townhomes on nearby properties in 2026. This will place The Brinkley adjacent to "work zones" for a period of time. The possible noise and traffic disruptions may be inconvenient for residents.

From the facilities to management to communication, the Brinkley has been a wonderful place to live! It is the perfect location (out of the busyness of south end but still walkable to shops/restaurants) and has everything we could need. Maintenance, when needed, responds and resolves in a timely manner. The finishes are truly high end. It makes apartment living feel like home!

I have lived within Marsh Properties for the past 5 years and when the Brinkley opened up I was so excited to be one of the first in my units! From the property itself, the amenities and the wonderful staff it’s been such an amazing experience living here! The property is well taken care of and the units are quiet and spacious! I will definitely be re signing when my lease is up 😊
