  John is very helpful and he puts the people first. He helped me set up my resident portal account in the office while he was swamped with other assignments. He is truly a blessing to have here at Estes Park. I have lived here for 6-7 years and John has been one of the best leasing agents Estes ever had.

  About a month ago, I wrote a review about how I could hear every single footstep my upstairs neighbors took. The leasing office saw my review and reached out to chat. A few weeks later, they brought out a crew to lay down material to try to pad my neighbors' footsteps. I think I have the world's loudest neighbors so I'm not sure how effective the padding was BUT, I was so grateful that the maintenance team was so kind and responsive. The complex can only do so much to combat the fact that my neighbors like to stomp. The maintenance team here is super quick.

  I genuinely question how some of the positive Google reviews for this place exist, because my experience at Estes Park Apartments was anything but positive. The apartments are not clean, this is not a nice or safe place to live, and the staff are far from helpful. I was even laughed at by staff when trying to resolve issues. I cannot stress this enough: do NOT move here. Estes Park Apartments, managed by GSC Management, was a year-long nightmare. The management office is completely disorganized and unhelpful. I tried twice to sublease or have someone move in with me, going in person each time, only to find out later that the information they gave me was incomplete or incorrect. Either the staff do not understand their own policies, or they simply don’t care. They also added my boyfriend to the lease without him ever signing anything, which felt extremely sketchy and unprofessional. The apartment itself felt like a health hazard. There was a strong cigarette smoke smell upon entry, appliances barely worked, and the washer and dryer were awful. Everything felt cheap and poorly maintained. After I moved out and returned a few days later, the smell was overwhelming — it honestly shocked me how much I had become desensitized to it while living there. Since moving out, my coughing and breathing issues have noticeably improved, and I was sick far more often while living there. I truly believe the poor infrastructure contributed to that. At one point, the ceiling caved in above my bathroom, laundry closet, and dining room because the upstairs water heater exploded. This was incredibly unsafe. The office constantly sends emails enforcing ridiculous, controlling rules — don’t let kids play in hallways or outside, don’t leave personal items outside your door, don’t put plants on windowsills. It feels like being monitored instead of supported. There are also bright floodlights directly outside the windows, making it nearly impossible to sleep at night. The lease itself is confusing and contradictory — one section says to give “proper notice” to vacate, while another says 60 days. It’s unnecessarily unclear and creates stress during move-out. This place isn’t just inconvenient — it’s unsafe, poorly maintained, and emotionally draining to live in. If you have any choice at all, RUN. I moved here due to an emergency, but if I could go back, I would have stayed in my previous bad situation rather than spend another year here.
