My wife and I lived here for 4 years, and we can say it was an overall great experience, though it does have some things to consider (in our opinion). Pros: -The apartments are beautiful, spacious, and have great lighting. The color of the floors and the walls really make almost any decorations look lovely. -The maintenance crew are very fast in attending to work orders, and they're friendly as well. -The amenities are great; the pool and the lobby are the highlights, but everything available is really cool. -The neighborhood is very nice; you can walk around the Mackintosh area, and it is quiet and peaceful. -We had a bit of a disturbing situation happen to our apartment; even though it wasn't a pleasant thing to occur, they were nice enough to install a camera in the hallway of our apartment, which helped avoid it happening again. Cons: -Unless you're living on a third floor, you have to pray that you get mindful neighbors upstairs. The floors/ceilings seem to be extra sensitive to noise, so steps, especially if people are barefoot or running around, can be heard really loud in the apartment. We had this problem for two years straight. The manager and leasing consultants tried to help us out with the situation, but I guess there's only so much they can do, so you do kind of have to hope your neighbors will be considerate. -We felt like ever since the new property manager came in, about a year ago or more, things changed in the property. They started to cut back on certain amenities, and the biggest thing was their policy on lease contracts. When we first got there, there were different months you could get a lease for, but now it's only 12 months (no flexibility). -We also had some issues with the trash valet service. Several times, they didn't take our trash bags for no apparent reason, even though we tried following the rules regarding how things needed to be set. They also constantly dropped bags or trash around the complex (accidentally, I suppose) but they were just left there. The biggest thing was that, in the information given to us when we moved in, they mentioned that valet would take cardboard boxes if they were properly broken down, but there was a point where they stopped doing that. When we asked the office staff about it, they answered that valet didn't actually take any cardboard boxes, but it was explicitly mentioned in the arrival papers that they did.

We were tenants upon 198 Milltown being constructed residing in the first building built. We persevered through the ongoing construction and enjoyed our time at 198 Milltown. We resided at 198 Milltown for nearly five (5) years. The apartment is well laid out with large closets, kitchen counter space and cabinets, and modern appliances and fixtures. The water pressure is very weak. We also really liked the neutral color scheme. Maintenance has always been fantastic. We did have issues with our washer though maintenance resolved. Amenities are great. The internet can sometimes be problematic. Staff was always an asset until new staff joined a couple of years ago. Hallways were always trashed with no change. Our most negative concern was a new downstairs neighbor constantly smoking. We reported it to the new staff often. We were advised by office manager Shelby, that they identified and confirmed the origin of the smoking and will be serving lease violations to them which would cause a non-renewal of their lease. Our lease renewal was upcoming in several months and patience was requested by Shelby and that the issue would be resolved soon. Now mind you, we had been suffering with the smoke for nearly a year since our new neighbor moved in and the smoking never stopped. We renewed our lease based on the information provided by Shelby that the issue would soon resolve. The issue never resolved. We inquired with the office and were surprisingly informed that the downstairs neighbor recently renewed their lease the same month we renewed ours. We suffered another year with smoke spilling into our apartment with no resolution. We were ignored and misled by the office manager and our well-being, including our young daughter, was not a concern. Thankfully, StoneRiver now manages the property and allowed us to prematurely end our lease and move out of 198 Milltown. With office staff present who have no conscience for tenants health, I would not recommend 198 Milltown apartments until current staff are replaced.

I was apartment shopping in Mebane and Burlington. Right off,I knew what kind of apartment I wanted and needed. Looking for a one bedroom handicapped apartment with a walk-in shower, in a favorable/centralized location and in a no flood zone area would be perfect for me. First,I began by going online to comparison shop among a multitude of apartments that would fit my budget. At each one I read reviews, considered the location for flooding, crime, and its central location to shopping areas, restaurants, and medical facilités. Then I read the history or date built for newer and more well constructed and modern apartments with the best and updated ammenities. After eliminating the ones I didn't need,I still called to make sure and went to different locations. What I discovered was that several managers/representatives were very cordial, welcoming, and customer centered on the phone and through texts;which made me feel good. I physically visited several locations then made my final decision. 198 Milltown Apartments was the only choice. It met my criteria of having a one bedroom handicapped apartment with a walk-in shower on the first floor. To sweeten the pot,the manager,Allison ,was amazing! She worked diligently answering all of my questions, showing me the apartments and was the most patient manager with the friendliest and considerate attitude. One day 198 Milltown Apartments will be my new home and I can't wait. I must say that the competition in the Mebane/Burlington area is high. For the elderly, finding more suitable apartments for them will require more apartments suitable to meet their physical, convenient ,and safety needs. Hopefully more of them are on the way.

I loved living here! The front desk staff and maintenance staff are super friendly! The apartments themselves are super spacious and modern. I have no complaints! Anytime I needed a maintenance request, such as my garbage disposable not working, it was fixed the same day! Living here as a student has been amazing! Highly recommend to any future Elon graduate students!!
