I've loved my experience living here. The grounds are kept beautiful, the people are all kind, and the apartments are very nice. A great choice for location. The maintence crew is excellent. As well as fun events planned monthly by Moriah and Aaron, the Apartment Life Coordinators.

We love the District community and location! It is a quick drive to the interstate, downtown, and shopping in addition to being right next to Biltmore Village and the Biltmore Estate. The District community itself has nice amenities we enjoy (ex: gym, pool, grills, large community room). Our favorite part though is the active social and community aspect among the District buildings, especially with Apartment Life events. They are a lot of fun and it creates a strong community of people.
I do not live here, but my boyfriend does and I visit often. A few heads up that you probably won't notice when coming by for a tour.
1. Weed/Pot/Drugs - the one time I took the elevator rather than the stairs to get to his apartment, the elevator smelled like weed. There are also young people that sometimes hang out and smoke pot at the picnic table in front of the building late at night and make a lot of noise.
2. Animal Waste in the Hallways - right before Christmas they sent out a notice to all tenants due to "ongoing and unacceptable incidents of dog-related waste, including defecation and vomiting, being left in the interior hallways of this building."
(number 1 and 2 tell me that they probably do not screen tenants very well which is the larger concern)
3. Cleanliness - when he moved in, his apartment hadn't been left clean and he was left to scrub the previous tenant's grime out of cupboards, the fridge, etc. This is usually not the case with higher-end apartment communities. He contacted the office but they did not do anything to help.
4. General neighborhood safety - if you are moving to Asheville from another city you may not be aware that a person was violently attacked and left in critical condition on the street just around the corner back in November. And there was a home invasion that left a woman raped and dead on the same street that night.
5. Lighting - come by here at night as part of your tour, the main entry and parking area to one building that I know of is very poorly lit, rather hidden and has lots of large shrubs that create a creepy unsafe feeling.
On the surface I think this neighborhood looks nice and modern, but it has issues that could only be noticed if you live here.

Last night’s event at the district apartment for Christmas ornament decorations, and gathering was awesome. Maria and Aaron did an amazing job as they always do in bringing us together. Had a great time 🎉🎉🎉
