Have enjoyed living at The Oxbow, so much so that I re-signed my lease last summer. Like any new build apartment complex, there’s some issues with construction quality and noise insulation. However, prices are competitive, the units and amenities are nice, and the grounds are amazing. Additionally, I’ve had great experiences with the staff. The maintenance team always responds promptly and won’t call a job finished until the issue is resolved. The front office folks are kind, know all their residents, and are willing to work with you. That type of consistency should be a major consideration in choosing where to rent.

I would not recommend living at Oxbow Apartments. From the first week I moved in, I was counting down the days until my lease ended. I was double-charged during move-in, and it took over a month of probably 20+ unanswered phone calls and several office visits before I finally got my money back. Communication was a constant issue—calls often went unanswered, and when staff said they’d call back, they rarely did. This was a trend throughout my entire lease.
At one point, management asked to enter my apartment with less than an hour’s notice for a non-emergency. I was at work and couldn’t be there to secure my pet, so I said they would need to wait 3 hours until I got home or come the next day, so I could prepare. I was harassed over the phone, which included name-calling, simply for refusing access without the required 24-hour notice.
The apartments may look nice, but they are cheaply built. There’s hardly insulation, the units stay cold—expect a $300+ electric bill in the winter, and the walls are so thin you can hear everything your neighbors do. The property itself is poorly maintained in winter, with sidewalks and roads left covered in inches of packed ice because they don't shovel often enough. Parking is also severely limited for the number of units.
Move-out was just as frustrating. No one showed up for my scheduled checkout, so I had to find an office employee to help. When I later received my charges, I had no explanation for why they were so high. Phone calls went unanswered, promises of callbacks were never fulfilled, and when I finally went in person, I was told they had lost my checkout form and couldn’t tell me what I was being charged for. I was promised the remaining portion of my deposit would be refunded, but months passed with nothing. When I called, I was told that they "forgot" to do it and then assured me that this time a new payment had been issued, and despite requesting proof via email, I only ever received verbal confirmation. 7 months later, I still have not received the rest of my deposit.
Something to note, during my last month living there, new management took over. I believe to try and turn things around, which I hope things do, but while they are very nice, the problems continue, and nothing has been followed through on.
Overall, my time at Oxbow Apartments was consistently disorganized and stressful. I’ve had additional negative experiences beyond these, but these examples alone should be enough to show why I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
