I’ve lived here long enough to watch the price go up every single year for absolutely no improvement. The rent hikes alone are ridiculous, but now they’ve decided to start charging us to park at the apartment complex we already pay a premium for. Imagine paying sky-high rent and then being told, “Oh, by the way, you owe extra just to put your car somewhere.” It’s honestly insulting.
Nothing about the place justifies the constant increases. No new amenities, no upgraded units, nothing that makes you feel like your money is going back into the property. Just higher bills and more fees tacked on for things that used to be included.
If you’re thinking about moving here, just know: the rent will go up, the fees will go up, and the value will go down. Save yourself the headache and look somewhere that actually respects its residents.

1 star is more than it deserves. I’ve lived at Southwind Apartments long enough to say this confidently: the place is far too expensive for what you actually get, and recent changes have only made things worse. When I first moved in, I expected the price to match the quality, but over time it became clear that the value just isn’t there.
The biggest frustration is that they’ve now added a parking fee, which feels like a cash grab on top of already high rent. Nothing about the parking situation has improved—no extra security, no new spaces, no upgrades. You’re simply paying more for something that was already included before. It’s frustrating and makes you feel like they’re constantly trying to squeeze every dollar out of residents.
A lot of the 5-star reviews are misleading, and honestly, some seem overly positive in a way that doesn’t match the reality here. Either those people didn’t stay long enough to see the issues, or they were just trying to be nice, because the actual experience is nowhere near what those reviews make it sound like. If you’re expecting luxury, updated units, or management that truly listens, you’ll be disappointed. Maintenance is hit or miss, the apartments are dated for the price, and the “amenities” are nothing special.
Overall, Southwind looks good at a glance, but once you’re locked into a lease, the cracks show pretty quickly. For the amount of money they charge, you can easily find somewhere cleaner, newer, and more respectful of residents’ wallets. If you’re considering moving here, look around first—there are better options for the same price or less.
