My partner and I loved living here until the past year or so, but the last couple months have been insufferable. We had 3-4 ceiling leaks within the 2 years we lived here, allegedly due to our previous upstairs neighbor. The tornado hit and we knew it would take a long time to get everything fixed, but it’s been ridiculous. They were very misleading in their emails (2/3 emails about window installation failed to clarify that it was Plexiglass instead of actual glass), and we’ve never received a rent reduction despite asking numerous times. Then the fire happened… I’m not exaggerating when I say they NEVER told us we could come back to live in our units. We received two emails about building entry so we could grab our belongings, but they never sent an email stating it was safe to live in. We only found out because my partner called them like 5 times over the course of a week and they finally called back and Allison claimed “you’ve always been able to come back”. This started the nightmare that’s been our moving out process. We WANTED to stay, but we weren’t sure if that was even a possibility with the damage from the fire. Our lease ends in April (this month), and by March we hadn’t heard anything (despite regularly reaching out to see if there was new info) so we realized we probably needed to give up on the idea of staying there and move out. Apparently we gave 45-day notice instead of 60-day notice, which means we’re getting charged over $600… Turns out the fire happened a week before the 60-day period even hit, so it was literally impossible for us to give an answer unless we had always planned on moving out (which we didn’t want to!!!!). Allison said they couldn’t do anything about it despite this clearly being extenuating circumstances. We also recently had an issue with rent payment where we’re now being charged a $250 late fee. We paid rent on time, but there were complications because it’s online. This led to my partner randomly getting a refund for their half of rent. After contacting the bank, my partner reached out to Allison over the phone and asked if there was anything they needed to do since they got the money back, but the app still said the balance was $0. Allison said everything seemed fine on her end and that she’d call us if there was an issue. We went grocery shopping that day, and a few hours later, my partner checked the rent app and saw the balance for their half of rent was there again. They called Allison once again and asked if it needed to be paid right away, and if there would be late charges. Allison clarified that there would be no issues. Well, now we’re being charged $250. I emailed Allison to clarify the situation and mentioned my partner being explicitly told there would be no late charges. Surprisingly, Allison called me almost immediately after I sent the email. She essentially told me that I’m wrong, we signed a contract and need to follow it, and I particularly recall her saying “so do NOT misconstrue what I’ve said.” I was so shocked and disgusted by her attitude that I simply laughed and said “girl bye” before hanging up. I’ve since asked for her superior’s contact information, but she’s dodging me and my partner’s emails. We’re trying to fight these extra charges, but they’re making it as difficult as possible. I would not recommend living here as long as this management company owns it… If you can even move in lol…

Allison was absolutely amazing!! She made us feel very welcomed and was one of the reasons we chose to place our trust with CWE. If I could put 10 stars I would.

DO NOT LIVE at any of these locations. Unified Residential. WOEFULLY OVERPRICED for the poor quality they provide. Service is slow, staff are dishonest and residents are charged phantom charges over and above the monthly rent. Residents are consistently charged cleaning fees but the area remains dirty, carpets not vacuumed, front doors broken breaching security, mailboxes tampered with, failing to enforce indoor smoking rules…. To make matters worse they increase rent without any improvements to the units or amenities. Their lack of response during the May tornado tops it off. It doesn’t help that the emergency line is ALWAYS OFF/SENT TO VOICEMAIL. So forget getting emergency help when you actually need it. Sign a lease at your own risk! You’ve been warned.
