I recently toured The Oliver Apartments in Olivette, and I was truly impressed from start to finish. Amy, the property manager, was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming. She took the time to answer every question thoroughly and made the entire experience feel personal and genuine.
Emma, the assistant manager, was just as wonderful—friendly, professional, and clearly dedicated to creating a positive community atmosphere. Together, they make an excellent management team.
I also had the chance to meet Calvin and Vernon from the maintenance staff, and it’s clear the property is in great hands. They were courteous, attentive, and take real pride in keeping the complex running smoothly and looking its best.
Overall, the tour left me with a great first impression. The team at The Oliver truly stands out for their professionalism, kindness, and commitment to resident satisfaction. Highly recommend checking this place out!

About a month and a half ago, I checked out a property that really caught my attention. I got there on time but ended up being a minute late. When I walked into the lobby, I saw a small group of older ladies who looked like they had just walked in without an appointment. To my surprise, nobody greeted me or even acknowledged my presence; the front desk attendant just took off with them. It felt a bit off, especially since I had made an appointment.
Feeling a bit ignored, I approached the first person I could find Amy, who was busy typing away in her office. She looked up and immediately told me I was "10 minutes late,". Still, she was nice enough to give me a quick tour. I appreciated her effort, but it felt kind of unfair that I, as a scheduled visitor, got a rushed tour while the walk-ins got more time to explore.
On the bright side, Amy did show me around, and I thought the unit was pretty nice. During the tour, she mentioned that it was currently available and that the previous tenant had only stayed for a few months definitely raised some red flags for me, but I kept my thoughts to myself for now.
Afterward, I followed up with Amy via email to ask a few questions, especially about the noise level since the unit faced the pool, was offered at a discount, and had a short tenancy history. Her response was a bit curt and came off as sarcastic. When I asked about the noise, she simply said, “This is apartment living, so there will always be noise.” While I get that noise is part of apartment life, I wished she had been a bit more understanding and transparent. That back-and-forth ultimately made me rethink my decision about moving there.

If I could rate 0 I would …save yourself & DONT MOVE HERE . I lived here for a year and it was NOTHING great .
Let’s start off with new management. TRASH! About a month of them taking over. I get woken up out of my sleep to a bang on my door (you would have thought it was the police) but no it was the new Leasing manager AMY! I open the door eyes hardly open she yells “YOU GOT TO STOP SMOKING”.. mind you Ive NEVER met her b4 , no introduction as to who she was or nothing! said my apartment smelled like weed and so on . Prior to this event I received a email about a marijuana smell complaint , Which I advised I don’t smoke in my apartment and never have! Amy went to the extent of even saying I couldn’t smoke in “MY CAR”…
Moving on , you pay extra for “RESERVE” & COVERED parking spots , just for some one else to park in you’re spot and management do nothing. The garage gate is never closed , it’s ALWAYS broken not protecting your vehicles or nothing! Trash is ALWAYS overflowing outside . We pay for valet trash , they come when they want too! They have water damage/mold on the hallway baseboards that’s been there for MONTHS! The gym
Is always MUSTY . They hired security which only lasted about 2 weeks after that they were no longer there! A guy kept getting in the building at one point of time and was sleeping in the lobby area which is VERY UNSAFE . During the summer time all Amy ever did was send RUDE EMAILS on the daily basis to tenants! Kids run the halls all night long like it’s a hotel . AMY is rude ,disrespectful & should not be working in ANYBODYS OFFICE! They can’t keep nobody living there , so they lowered the prices! Only good thing was maintenance! I could go on but I’d be typing forever all in all
Edit : AND NOT TO MENTION I advised Amy that the apartment was super clean and move in ready! Only to get pictures from her stating that the apartment was damaged only because I didn’t pay my balance off when SHE WANTED ME TO! But I have videos and pictures from the day I moved out that are totally different from the pictures she sent.
NEVER MOVE HERE!
TLDR: Nope, if you can afford to live here you can afford to live somewhere else. The service doesn't match the price!
Long story, lived here for 3 years and wouldn't recommend even with the new ownership. I took down my previous one star to give the benefit of the doubt to the new ownership and let me tell you they are worse.
Trash EVERYWHERE, this place is disgusting. Just look around... trash on the ground, trash sitting in the parking garage, trash by the doors, on the floors, in the halls, stairs and on the fence that sits there for weeks/months. Residents cannot follow simple valet trash instructions that has an app. I've seen mice, I've seen roaches...and you have gnats infestation due to the poor build and lack of insulation around the windows along with the poor sanitary conditions.
You also have the parking garage which I'm surprise the break ins haven't started back up. The gate has been busted since the new Management took over and was only fixed maybe a weekend or here/there. You have random vehicles in the garage (which you pay an imposed fee for) and some are not plated or parking in non-parking spots that block you in. I've almost been hit multiple times by those vehicles and have seen vehicles do handoffs behind the building where guest, which is 90% all residents, park.
Management does nothing, response to nothing, can't even get the avalanche of the mailroom under control. I'm surprised no one hasn't been seriously harmed by retrieving a package. I know I almost broke an ankle or two.
Oh and if you can look past all that you then have to live with Big Foot upstairs or Free Willy splashing around with the cardboard box apartments.
The amount of medical bills I've racked up due to getting hot boxed or the cigarette smoke in a non-smoking residents/lease...I should have caused a bigger scene or have sent the ownership my bills.
Good news, I'm out and don't have to deal with all this for a $1750 studio (yes that is what it is with all the fees).

Moving into The Oliver has been a great experience! From the start, Amy, the property manager, went above and beyond to help me find the perfect apartment. Her guidance was incredibly helpful, and she made the whole process smooth and stress-free. She's not only professional but also genuinely friendly and approachable — it really made a difference.
I also want to thank Emma, who has been super supportive throughout the move-in process. Both Amy and Emma made me feel welcome and taken care of, and I truly appreciate their efforts.
Excited to call The Oliver home!
