Ashley Cain is amazing (just started process) step by step details on homes prices what's included what was going to be added, when the 1st payment is to be made time frame of selection to delivery set up and move in! Reached out a few months ago to start looking and not once was she over bearing rude or pushy! To the point it took us a min to realize we had already been talking for a few months prior to me and my wife coming in today! But once she heard the name she had my file ready to go and knew exactly where we left off and where to pick back up! When they say they will be there and ready when you are well they will be there and ready when you are! So far pretty good experience!

I'll start by saying, everyone we dealt with in buying a new Clayton home was immaculate, from the representative to the factory workers that tried to fix some of our issues after it was delivered. All of them were very professional... Now, as for the product being delivered.
The House was brand new and we were told it traveled exceptionally well. But, it all started when we were told the porch light would be fixed in a few weeks because it was cracked, ( To Date it has never been fixed ) nearly every piece of trim started popping loose. The floor is linoleum, I noticed when I wipe the floor down I can feel nails in every room starting to rise and faint Red squares starting to appear ( rightly 2 x 3 ). The exhaust ports for the bathroom and the stove start flapping when it's windy so you'll hear a tap tap tap ( why not install the ones with cushion, thats just silly for the manufacturer ). One of our windows is crooked slightest, enough to see but not enough to affect the window. The front door was showing light through it so they sent out a factory floor tech that fixed the light but then the door shuts by itself now and the floor tech didn't seem like it was a concern to him when we bring it up, he also had to cut some of the linoleum to get the nails down or out... I didn't like anything being cut or damaged in a new house but after the year warranty there has been a lot more and we didn't want to contact them again before the year because more would have been damaged i feel like or to feel rushed ( Society wants to do everything like a youtube video today )... 4 of the interior doors started sqeaking within 6 months... It's now been over a year and the main exhaust for the living room/laundry room and above the stove ( exhaust ) is leaking water from the snow so I climbed on the roof and noticed nails that were rising and tar that was cracking ( in the first year ) some nails didn't have tar on them, surprise surprise at this point.
If I had to recommend anything to anyone, where was the inspector because there needs to be serious oversight in the manufacturing process. I understand that it travels miles sometimes hundreds but there was an inspector on our roof, on the interior and exterior before we moved in, did they not see any of these issues ( check for adequate lubricant, concern for noises, broken glass on the porch light, cracking or missing tar, floor nails rising ) why didn't we contact anyone after the first time- because we felt rushed after they "tried to fix the door" and ruin the floor... as a homeowner and since it has exceeded the warranty, we nailed the trim, used a compressor with an air hammer to get down the nails without cutting and ruining the linoleum, fixed the screen the door ( yes that was crooked as well )
This isn't a post to discouraged you from going to Clayton, Clayton homes is amazing. Some people just get in a hurry when there's a high demand. This post is to merely make you aware when you buy a new house to check the floors, the alignments and the roof so you don't have the headache we have had on a new house.
Edit: We called the HVAC support number that we were left with before December because our AC was squealing. We were just told we're on the list ( This is not Clayton homes but a subcontractor I believe for manufacturer homes ) to date we have still not received a call back.
