DO NOT RENT HERE – Completely Unprofessional, Overpriced, and Unsafe
Living in this building has been a nightmare from the beginning, and I feel obligated to warn others before they make the same mistake I did.
Management is currently trying to charge me $16,500 for a pipe that burst during the winter, claiming it was my fault because they “believe” I left my balcony door open. That is completely false. I never left it open — in fact, I would come home to find the balcony door open when neither I nor my boyfriend had been home. On multiple occasions, I returned to the apartment and found furniture or items moved around, as if someone had been inside while we were gone. Management offered no explanation, and this raises serious concerns about security, tenant privacy, and unauthorized access.
The lack of responsibility and transparency is unacceptable, and unfortunately, it doesn’t stop there.
• The building is infested with mice and flies. I’ve seen rodents in the halls, near the trash area, and even inside my unit. I’ve caught mice, cleaned droppings, and had to constantly spray for bugs just to feel halfway clean. Despite numerous complaints, management has done nothing that actually solves the problem.
• Sarah, the property manager, is rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She refuses to have real conversations with tenants, ignores calls and emails, and often shuts people down when they try to raise concerns. If she does respond, it’s just to deflect blame or avoid accountability.
• Power outages happen regularly. Several times when I went to the office to get help or ask questions, the power was out. Each time, I was told “It’s not our problem — call Xcel Energy,” with zero effort to offer help or even communicate about the issue.
Other serious issues include:
• Elevators frequently out of service
• Overflowing trash left for days
• Unclean, poorly maintained common areas
• Maintenance requests ignored or half-done
• No communication unless it’s about money
Management here uses intimidation, blame-shifting, and neglect as standard practice. They don’t maintain the property, don’t protect tenant safety or privacy, and look for any excuse to make tenants pay for their failures — even going as far as fabricating reasons for damages they caused or failed to prevent.
If you’re thinking about moving in — don’t. You’ll regret it. The stress, health risks, power issues, lack of security, and financial exploitation are simply not worth it. Find a place where tenants are respected and protected.
I moved here from another state and never been to Minnesota before. I decided to choose Terra Pointe because the application process was very easy and straightforward (it was also the right price for me with downtown St. Paul being minutes away) and I was able to get in touch with someone on the phone with any questions I had from another state. The management and staff are amazing—prompt, courteous and really works hard to maintain and improve the quality of life for the residents. I have everything I need—underground parking, laundry, dog wash station, pool, gym, available staff members and great maintenance team. Move-in was super efficient and the staff was super patient and courteous. There is a touch of luxury with a dedicated package room and video door bell system. I have felt very safe in this area—convenient to shopping, highways and parks, and great Asian market and Sun ray mall, loads of public transport close by. I was able to coordinate and reschedule maintenance promptly with staff and truly felt that they respected my family’s time. The complex also holds events for residents. I truly feel blessed to have found this apt complex and I am not paid to write this review—I hope it helps those who are moving from other states to Minnesota to consider Terra Pointe!
