The office staff is is incredibly rude and belligerent. The day after after I move in they call screaming at me about how they're about to charge me an exorbitant sum for some cheap little cart they accused me of stealing including only slightly veiled threats of their friends in the police doing violence to me. A few hours later they found their stupid little cart right where it was supposed to be and didn't even apologize.
Later they told me I was a liar when I said my neighbor's dog was barking incessantly.
When I was moving out, they were straight up apoplectic on the phone because I applied somewhere else without notifying them and they wouldn't talk to the new place which I've never had anyone do before. All I was trying to do was make sure my application to the new place was approved because Mears Park lists your unit as vacant the second you say you're moving. They called and my girlfriend answered and they had her in tears berating her because I misses a couple phone calls from them when I was working.

They are awful, manager is in your personal business, the building is not sanitary, they don't come out of office to know what's going on in the building. People smoking in apartments, nothing done don't shovel , the steps good. It's just a hot mess, here. Can't wait to move. I would not recommend moving here.

I've been a resident here for 18 months and everything has been good thus far. About a month ago, all of a sudden out of nowhere I've been experiencing mice in my house!!! For me, it's very disgusting and horrifying. I'm terrified to death of them and quite honestly, I've lost plenty sleep!! I'm not used to living like this and at this point, I've become very uncomfortable here and no longer look forward to coming home not knowing when I'll see the next one. My lease can't come fast enough .... I will be relocating 💯

I have lived in MPPA since April, 2017 and I am very pleased I chose this building over all the others available in Lowertown.
-Yes, the prices are more reasonable, perhaps because it does not have chrome appliances and marble/stone counters but all my appliances work perfectly as do the ACs. (am in a two bedroom)
-Every request I have made for maintenance has been met 95% on the same day, the other 5% of the time the next day!
-The office staff is unfailingly professional, pleasant, kind and patient--good qualities to have especially when there is a lot of upgrading construction going on outside which inconveniences the residents.
-Even the workman doing that construction have been courteous and helpful as they know there is inconvenience involved.
-The building is situated at the apex of three skyways AND at the corner of Mears Park so getting to restaurants, dry cleaning, hair dressers, the bank, the YMCA, or the weekly music in the park, or over two blocks to the farmers market on the weekends, or to the Wed. market on Roberts right in front of Securian....well you just couldn't be in a better local.
-I volunteered for MPR and at the Fitzgerald....I could walk outside or inside on the skyways with no problem, even at night after programs at the Fitz.
-Getting in an out of the garage is easy and that we have a separate entrance and exit is important.
-That we have three elevators is also a big plus, especially when one breaks down or needs service or is tied up with someone moving in or out.
-The cleaning staff does a good job which isn't easy with all the construction around the building and residents tracking in all kinds of dirt.
-I use the pool at least 3x a week which I love. And now it too is being upgraded so can't wait to get back to it. In the meantime, I can use the YMCA just across 6th Street! Talk about a great location!
I have had all the whistles and bells, the chrome and marble. It's all nice but I'd rather use my money for adventures: kayaking, biking, skiing, and touring. I take my bike out the garage door and in minutes I am down along the Mississippi River stopping at the Red House for lunch.
I disagree with the negative reviews posted here. The walls ARE NOT THIN. I have never heard my neighbors. The walls are poured concrete.
I have NEVER been charged for anything I have asked for. When you rent here you are given a resident's manual so the rules are clear.
I am 74, fit, active and pay attention to details. I like it here and the staff is excellent...which is the most important aspect of MPPA. People make the difference.
