Living at The Gables has been an amazing experience. The team is attentive and professional, and anytime I’ve put in a maintenance request, it’s been taken care of in a timely manner. You also can’t beat the location — close to the best restaurants and shopping, with West End only five minutes away.

I had scheduled an apartment tour a week before our tour. I did this through their website and got confirmation emails. Upon arriving, my boyfriend and I went to the entrance that we assumed would be the main entrance for the building, as there are no signs whatsoever. On the call box, we called the leasing office where a man told us the leasing office is outside and to the left of where we were. We walked around looking for any indication of this to the point of returning to the call box for further clarification. We were informed that the leasing office is in a separate apartment building across the street and on the other side of apartments (not the Gables) from where we were. We had gone to this property about 10 minutes early to be able to find where we needed to be. When we found the leasing office, it stated it was for the apartments that the office was in with no indication of it also being for “The Gables.” When we walked inside, we were able to see a door that said “leasing office” but the lights were off (and we were locked out from being able to enter). We made a call to the leasing office through the call box again and a lovely woman who was offsite answered and tried to help us. We informed her that we had scheduled a tour (that we were going on almost 10 minutes late for at this point) and trying to find said office, but the lights were off and the door was closed. (Mind you, I’d gone over the confirmation emails multiple times to see if there was any additional information as to where to go, who we’d meet, etc. as every apartment I’ve ever toured had provided. The offsite lady had attempted to call the leasing office 2 times before letting me know she was unable to get ahold of anyone. I was already unimpressed by the lack of signage or information letting us know of the location of the leasing office or whom to speak to and was unsuccessful finding anything useful. The overall experience presented a lack of professionalism and was quite frankly disappointing. We had spent about a half hour from the time we arrived trying to find someone as well as understand where to go. The overall experience was also disappointing as my boyfriend and I work many hours a week and my one day off a week was wasted by a leasing company that didn’t even have the decency to notify me that they wouldn’t be present for a tour. So, for anyone interested in these apartments- unfortunately, the leasing office may struggle at doing their job of properly informing as well as directing you and the confirmation emails may not be enough confirmation for them. With that information, I feel like I can safely assume that living here would be less than ideal due to communication, or lack thereof (especially based off of reviews from regular tenants).

Apartments: Apartments are clean, large, and simple. The biggest downside is the walls are extremely thin.
Management: Management team is fairly responsive to any needs, and the payment process for rent / utilities is largely online which is convenient.
Location: Apartment is a few miles outside of downtown Minneapolis. It is conveniently located outside of the immediate city and has access to Uptown and Downtown.
Overall: A very decent apartment complex for a reasonable price.
