Just a few short blocks from Eat Street, the Greenway, and the MIA, The Whit puts you at the center of one of the city's most dynamic areas— where art, culture, eclectic food, and outdoor fun are simply part of daily life. Back home, you’ll find plenty of amenities to draw you in and draw you out—including expansive floor plans with designer finishes, a rooftop community garden, an on-site fitness center, and more. At The Whit, you won’t need a painter’s skill to express yourself. Here, contemporary living is an art unto itself.
We offer a wide range of living options—from cozy studios to 1- and 2-bedroom apartments—all featuring bright, airy living spaces, high ceilings, stylish finishes, designer flooring, and open kitchens just made for entertaining. For those who enjoy living efficiently, we also offer a variety of micro floor plans and pricing options.
Management and maintenance are friendly and responsive. We had a couple of very minor maintenance issues upon move-in, but the maintenance team is on top of things. Rent is on the higher side for the area, but fair given the quality of the apartment. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby on Eat Street and in Uptown. Parking in the garage is pretty expensive, but the garage is well-kept, and it's not usually too difficult to find street parking. The area is very good for walking and biking, and public transit is okay but could be better. Especially if you have a car, it's not too difficult at all to get to most places in Minneapolis. I haven't had any issues with disruptive neighbors so far, and a lot of them have cute, friendly dogs that love attention. Prior to moving in, I saw crime listed as a big concern for the Whittier neighborhood, and I have witnessed one crime down the road, but it was purely a personal dispute. The people here generally range from quiet/private to friendly, and I feel safer in Whittier than in other neighborhoods or cities I've been in.
Overall I would definitely recommend The Whit for someone on the hunt for a good apartment in a culturally diverse and very queer-friendly part of Minneapolis.

I’ve been here for about 2 years, in two different units. Overall I really love this building. It’s probably my favorite place I’ve ever lived. I’m gonna give a review based on stuff I’d want to know about the building.
Utilities that are included: water, electric, coffee (!) and internet in the lobby.
Likes: The neighbors are pretty quiet and chill. The building is clean and modern. Its nice to have the rooftop, community room space, bike storage and gym.
Great lighting! The windows are huge and let in a lot of light!
If your on the 5th floor your almost guaranteed a pretty good view
The new management took over about a year ago and has been responsive and helpful.
The neighborhood is pretty cool. A lot of new buildings are going up in the area and restaurants are reopening and you can walk almost anywhere. It’s super close to downtown so I can bike or walk to work everyday.
Dislikes:
The apartment pictures online are not a good representation of most if the units. They only show the two largest units in the photos online. **I think the new management just hasn’t had a chance to do that yet though bc they probably need to have empty units to do that.**
One thing that is not in the pictures or the online layouts is the GIANT window heat/cooling units. They take up a lot of space and you can’t put anything in front of them. They are also very expensive to run. However, a lot of new buildings are doing this, I toured other building like this in the area and they almost all have these units.
There is not a lot of closet space and no storage units available in the building.
Note: half walls in some of the one bedrooms (see pics)
