I’ve lived here since mid-May 2024 and I would encourage anyone considering being a resident to read the reviews from actual residents - not just people who had a good experience touring the property. This place had a lot of potential and I really like my apt from a layout perspective and overall. But the experience of actually being a resident here has been lackluster and challenging at times.
My lease is up in May and I am counting down the days until I move. If I didn’t have to pay a two month penalty, I would break my lease even sooner.
The gist is that the luxury experience sold is not truly how it feels to live here; but it’s not necessarily. Bad or horrible place to live is. However for the cost of living here, it’s not great.
Pros:
1. Location is fantastic for walking/getting around. Also love the lake view from apt.
2. Apt is nice and I’ve never seen a bug inside.
3. Garage is convenient.
4. Rooftop pool and hot tub are really nice.
5. Maintenance people are super nice and quick.
Cons:
1. Guest parking is very inconvenient. We only get 24 hours a month for free - even that is rather challenging to access.
2. Thin walls/floors - I hear my upstairs neighbors all of the time and can hear my adjacent neighbors bathroom pipes. Also whenever my upstairs neighbor showers there is a repetitive banging in my bathroom walls from the pipes and it wakes me up early at 2-3 times a week.
3. It’s so loud and the building shakes regularly - literally between so much construction, the train and the restaurant dumpster pick up, I am woken up before 6-7 am regularly by loud trucks or the shaking of my bed.
4. Smoking - multiple residents do not respect the no smoking community contract. People smoke cigarettes and marijuana inside the building, on their balconies/porch and directly in front of the building on the walkway. I’ve had marijuana scent coming into my apt through open windows and/or vents multiple times. I’ve even been at the pool and someone was vaping right there with guests right there near them (including kids).
5. It’s not a luxury apt and it’s overpriced for what it is. The building is like 3.5 years old and some things are already starting to show wear and in general the construction was very clearly a rushed thing. Cabinet handles were hung uneven, curtain chains hung incorrectly, master shower floor doesn’t drain properly without a squeegee. There is literally still plaster dust outside of every single apt where they drilled the apt number signs into the wall. I even asked for it to be cleaned when I first moved in and it never happened. The dust is still there to this day.
6. Building/grounds cleanliness- it’s gone downhill significantly since I first moved in back in May 2024.
7. Garage door - at least one door has been broken or inaccessible the entire time I’ve lived here. We have gotten emails about a broken door almost monthly and sometimes weekly.
8. The 5th floor roof access door leaks whenever it rains or snow melts. It’s a known issue and it’s never been fixed or worked on the entire time I’ve lived here. The floor near the elevators has been soaked with puddles multiple times in the Summer months and a guest of mine slipped on it back in August. I’ve even slipped at least once too.
9. This doesn’t matter to me because I never use it, but I’m sure it’s an amenity included in the total costs all residents are paying in fees - so, for what it’s worth the coffee machine in the lobby is broken a lot. They have maintenance people here for it regularly. I’ve only ever seen it working maybe 3x since I’ve lived here. And half of the flavor syrups are expired.
10. Management lacks attention to detail and doesn’t seem to really treat the property like a luxury living experience to maintain for residents - all of the above supports this.

I lived here for about a year and I loved it. It was very affordable and one of the best places that I’ve lived. I’ve really enjoyed working with Pam, Tyler, and Colleen; they were super helpful and kind! Matt the maintenance guy was great when I worked with him briefly. They are a fantastic management group and I would have loved to renew the lease, but I am moving out of state. The amenities were great and the location was amazing. I would definitely recommend the move to the Mezz!
