I wish I could leave a positive review for Freightyard, but between the paper-thin walls, rude neighbors, and completely unhelpful management, there’s not much good to say about living here.
My roommate and I were excited to live at Freightyard when we first moved in, but that excitement didn’t last long. During our very first weekend, literally just moving furniture in, we could already hear our neighbors yelling at us to “shut up,” and we even received a noise complaint from management. So much for a warm welcome.
Over time, we got to know our neighbors way too well... not because we met them, but because we could hear every single word and footstep through the paper-thin walls. Even in my bedroom, it felt like someone was physically in the room with me. There was absolutely no sense of privacy.
Toward the end of our lease, we decided there was no way we would be renewing. But when we informed management, they hit us with a “60-day move-out notice” policy — something buried in the lease that they never communicated to me. We missed it by just two weeks, and despite having been quiet, respectful tenants with no issues, they forced us to pay for an additional two weeks. They refused to show any flexibility, even though they hadn’t communicated the policy clearly.
If you don’t want to hear your neighbors’ conversations word-for-word, or deal with a management team that hides behind lease fine print instead of working with tenants in good faith, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. There are far better, more reasonable places to live in North Loop.
