Never rent from this apartment complex EVER!! Soon as you move out they charge you for innacurate damages and random fees that are not real!! Managment sucks and the units are not luxury! It’s a money pit, be ready to get scammed! Also there’s random people not even residents who walk in. Always a stench of weed smell, so if ur a smoker it’s a great place for you! Constant loud footsteps running through the halls as well as dogs barking constantly! Pools always closed. The grills hardly work and never have gas, bottom line the place is garbage. They tow your vehicle even with a parking pass! Doesn’t even deserve 1 star!!! Managment never answers the phone either so don’t bother calling for anything!

The maintenance person was personable, helpful and went above and beyond to ensure my door was fixed correctly.
Well, now that I've paid the fee to break my lease, I wanted to warn/welcome anyone who may be interested in renting unit 01-208. If you don't like to sleep, and you love to smoke weed - this is the unit for you! Upstairs neighbor might just be an elephant, and he stampedes through the apartment at all hours. 10 pm, Midnight, 2:30 am, 3:30 am, 5:30 am, etc. And at all of these hours he does the courtesy slamming of the balcony door as he blows his weed outside. Sometimes he misses however, and then you get to smell that sweet skunk in your unit as it creeps through the vents. Oh, and I can't forget that infamous "hit the weed too hard" cough, that's just music to the ears! Again, if you like to smoke weed, you'll blend right in, here in 01-208. He smokes the good stuff too, maybe you can become friends!
The original review: One star because it is pretty. Minus four stars because the combination of cheap construction and inconsiderate neighbors have made this a nightmare living situation. I have lived in various apartments for over 10 years and have never experienced noise like I do here. Excessive slamming, stomping and banging makes you feel like you're living with obnoxious roommates rather than resident neighbors. Zero sense of peace nor privacy. Yes, I have contacted management and they have not been helpful. 1) They can't fix a building once it's already built, and 2) they apparently have no affect on ill-mannered tenants. Also, somewhere around a month ago we received an email stating people were stealing from cars in the parking garage. Within the last 36 hours my car has been rifled through. I don't keep anything of value in my car, but the fact that theft is an ongoing problem should be a concern for current and future tenants.

Updating my review to piggyback every other review. Captain towing WILL tow your car whether you have a pass or not. It will cost $350+ to get it out (oh and if you don’t notice right away it’ll cost an extra $100 a day) and it’ll probably happen more than once. I am genuinly convinced they broke into my vehicle to move my pass because it was THERE at 10pm, car was towed at 1am, and the seal on my door was messed with in the towing process like the door was forced open. Beyond frustrating and a huge reason we’re leaving. It’s so sickening to go out to your vehicle and it’s missing, twice. Not a very “homey” experience. I still stand by the good in this review. Parking needs to be fixed immediately and Captain Towing owes people $ for real.
My husband and I (and now our daughter + 80lb pup) have lived here for 3+ years now. We sold our house to invest into our business and wanted to live in a spot that felt better than other options options out there. This is by far the best rental we've lived in. We toured Nuvelo before deciding to sell our house and instantly were excited and at ease to move in. Our apartment unit itself is BEAUTIFUL! We love it. The amount of natural light, the beautiful kitchen, the hardwood floors, and the in unit W/D are all things we highly appreciate. We live in an end unit of the building and our apt doesn't share a wall with any other units so I'm not sure others experience, but for us, it's a quiet unit and we have no noise complaints minus sometimes the upstairs apartment moving chairs around or vacuuming.
My biggest pros here are the community spaces (we've hosted many family/friend gatherings in the community spaces), the pool, the very walkable area, and the SAFETY. This is by far the most safe I have felt in an apartment. Everyone here keeps to themselves but are friendly. Being here for 3 years, we've become friendly passer by-ers to many neighbors, knowing their dogs names, and human faces + sharing small talk in the elevators! People keep an eye out for each other whether its bringing packages in, helping with groceries/doors or just being friendly!
Cons... the hard water is probably my #1 complaint. it has caused many issues inside our apartment, including the AC unit clogging due to buildup and "flooding" our daughters room. On that same note, maintenance tried to tell me both times this happened that it was totally fine and not going to create mold. No. Water under carpet and soaking on the baseboards does = mold. The first time I was a month away from bringing home a newborn and they fought me on it so much, the second time, I insisted they get someone out to look at it. Sure enough they rip up the carpet and there is mold starting to grow under the baseboards and floor. Super frustrating to not be heard or taken seriously. Things do get fixed correctly but in my experience, only after putting up a fight otherwise some of the fixes feel lazy. The hard water has also ruined our nugget ice machine, coffee equipment and gives our berkey water filter a run for its money... oh and don't even get me started on the $ we spend monthly on our shower head filters. If we don't use them, my baby and I both breakout from the water. I wish they would invest in a building wide water solution. AV has hard water but the tap water is truly just not drinkable, showerable, or great on appliances in my experience here. The package room will randomly be unavailable to get into due to wifi connections or the Ipad going down over the weekend, and then there's no one to contact about it, so you have to wait to get anything out till Monday.
Many surveys go out via email throughout the year, but I feel like nothing is ever really followed up on. Overall, the good outweighs the bad here and we're thankful for our time! I'd still recommend it to anyone asking about apartment living but I do wish that feedback was taken more seriously here sometimes. I'll update this as we move out....
