I lived here for two years, and this apartment complex is fine, but wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The rent is extremely high for what you get; you’re just essentially paying for location and fake luxury.
Connor, the leasing manager, and Justin, who does maintenance, are the only good things about this apartment, and they’ve been extremely helpful and nice.
After one year of living here, my unit completely flooded, ruining 90% of my belongings. I left for ~25 minutes one evening, and came back to my apartment 3 inches underwater and still actively leaking through the ceiling.
I opted for the rental insurance that was offered directly through Starkweather, and no one could contact them for at least a week. When dealing insurance claims, you cannot touch/move anything until someone comes out to inspect. Despite this, the management company, Beztak, was so adamant on me getting my things out as soon as possible so that they could rent it out to someone else. I would stay away from this property management company as a whole. I was supposed to be reimbursed for my week-long hotel stay by the apartment (not insurance), but never got the money for that. Had I known that they wouldn’t reimburse me like they said they would, I would’ve found somewhere else to stay.
The flood occurred because of a water pipe that wasn’t properly secured when the building was built. Everything about this building is made with cheap materials that look nice from afar, but are not functional for the price you pay for rent. After my apartment flooded, I moved into a different unit in the same building, and this unit had just as many problems (minus the flood) from my first unit.
These are the issues that I, personally, wish I knew before I moved in:
-The washer and dryer are extremely tiny and located in a closet.
-The water is not charged based on single unit usage. It’s based on the number of people listed in your lease. The meters are read and combined for all of the other units with the same amount of people, and split evenly. (I’m not sure about other utilities, but regardless, it's still very high each month).
-The walls are very thin, especially in the main hallways, you can hear everything from every unit when you walk through the building.
-The dog park is fine but not maintained very well. It has no shade and 2 old, broken picnic tables. The park itself is located on an extremely steep hill that’s impossible to get up during the winter months.
-All of the crown molding in both of my units were not completely level to the floor. The gap was big enough for small jewelry to slide under. The carpet was ‘new’ but cheap, and not properly installed, making it so that you could pull up the carpeting from almost the entire perimeter of the apartment. The plank flooring is also not installed properly and had small gaps between many of the planks, which caused ants and other small bugs to get in, specifically on the first floor.
-The hot water tank in both of my units only held enough hot water for one ~10 minute shower. Maybe.
-The fire alarm has gone off at least 5 times for no reason - I was told that “it can just happen”. Besides the obvious inconvenience, it’s also incredibly inconvenient for pet owners to secure their pets, and rush outside. Not to mention, damaging for their hearing.
-Each unit is assigned one covered car port, but a lot of people park wherever they want
-The gym is very small/outdated and has broken machines
-The “path next door to Hines Park” that is advertised is really an overgrown, very steep, “path” that’s located off of Plymouth Road - you have to walk through the overgrown grass/trash on the side of the main road. Then, once you make your way to what looks like a path, you can stumble your way down, while trying not to fall, but also while maneuvering through all the overgrown trees, until you get to the water logged area off of Hines Drive

Please be cautious about the five star reviews here. I was in the leasing office one time with the leasing staff helping people write their five star reviews...
I would STRONGLY advise against moving here. First off, as one of the initial tenants I expected there to be some issues with construction still wrapping up and this being a new construction, however there were many more issues than just some. As of right now, the property is on their third property management company.
The marketing materials at the time, and even today has lies on them which makes it false advertising. There is no bike storage, accessible storage units, fire pits, state of the art internet and video, and many other lie.
There is absolutely no sound conditioning in the building. You can hear when people above you walk, talk, open the door, go to the bathroom, and all the outside noise. As of the time of this post, not one item on my move in check list from last summer has been corrected. They don't have a maintenance person, so nothing is ever fixed and in the rare instances they do find someone, the competency level of that person is not much higher than a rock.
The grounds upkeep on this property is horrible. In the winter, they don't remove the snow on the back walk ways, the dumpsters are always overflowing, and there is the same trash on the property grounds as three months ago. Also they refuse to get recycling on site.
At first lease renewal they will attempt to raise rates 3-10%, however the property has no amenities nor the ability to get any due to the site plans. They try and raise rent, so the tenant puts move out notice, however they will release the same space at the current rate the previous tenant was paying. The is a large amount of chain smokers on the property so it will always smell like cigarettes.
So unless you want to hear everything going on in the building and around town all the time along with your neighbor going to the bathroom, unresponsive maintenance, dirty grounds, chain smokers, and lies I'd rent elsewhere.
