  The office staff is very friendly and helpful especially if you have any sort of problem. The apartments are very nice and the rent is very reasonable. I would these recommend these apartments to everyone.

  I have had a German cockroach problem the moment I came here. My first walk through my apartment, I saw a cockroach crawling up the bathroom wall. I ended up seeing them everywhere. I immediately reached out to maintenance and called many times. It took a very long time (a month maybe) for maintenance or anyone to finally do something about it, and all they did was set sticky traps. I never heard anything from anyone about it again. I know people in the same building as me on the other end with cockroaches as well. It has been an unpleasant experience.

  25 East Student Apartments is a really pretty and well-kept community. The property is always clean, and the layout gives off a nice, welcoming vibe. The buildings and shared spaces are thoughtfully maintained, which makes the whole place feel comfortable and inviting. It definitely stands out as a great-looking option for student living and is worth checking out if you’re looking for a nice environment.

  I went on a tour today at 1 pm. I had to drive from Grand Rapids, which is an hour drive. I had around 5 different email confirmations of the "in-person" tour, a bunch of email asking to verify that I will be there, and an email about a leasing agent meeting us for the tour. THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY APARTMENTS READY. They literally just showed us a minute and a half video at the reception desk on their IPad. And that was all🤦🤦🤦. Insane! Just send us a video via email, I can watch it from home duh. I dont need to drive an hour to see it from your Ipad.

  I've been a long time resident of 25 East-- since before COVID-- and I've seen it go from good to decent to bad over the course of about 8 different management companies in that time. I'm leaving after a 30% rent increase in one year. I will say that, overall, the staff is friendly and, outside of peak times at move in and move outs, maintenance is pretty quick. Furniture provided is cheap but it is there. You get a free bus pass in the fall and spring (not summer!) semesters. That's all the good I have to say. Public spaces are not kept clean-- pet waste is frequently found outside, the dog park is full of stuffing from a toy getting ripped up, the stair wells are not cleaned. Office hours are inconsistent. They are posted as 10-6 on week days with slightly shorter Saturday hours. I went at 5 on Friday and they were closed. Today, Saturday, I went at 12:30 and they are still closed. No notice was sent regarding this. I have been trying to pick up a pair of packages delivered to the office for two days now and they'll be closed on Sunday. It's a good thing I don't need them for class or work on Monday! -- Editing for the sake of fairness: while closed early yesterday, the only staff in today were giving a tour, so this is sometimes an issue of staffing. I came back in about a half hour and they came outside to deliver my packages to me. Like I said, friendly staff! -- The amenities are closed often. The pool didn't open until mid August last year. The gym and rec/tech rooms were closed for long periods as well. The walls and floors are thin. You will hear your neighbors if they are home. Did I mention they raised my rent 30% in a year? That was at initial renewal offer. If I were to renew now it would be at a rate 50% higher than before. Literally hundreds of dollars more per month than I paid last year. 25 East used to be the cheap game in town and you got what you paid for. Now it's no longer the cheap game in town, but you're still getting services like they are. Stay away.
