We initially had a positive experience touring the apartments with Ashley, who showed us two units. We selected one we liked and agreed to move forward. After reviewing the fees, we were informed there were some issues due to a ânew systemâ glitch, but we paid $200 toward the application. Although the system continued to request payment from the second applicant, Ashley advised us to look past it.
Ashley later informed us that we had been approved and stated that a link would be sent on Monday so we could move forward with the lease and discuss the security deposit. Unfortunately, that communication never came.
By Monday, the system was still requesting payment, and Ashley was out for the day. We were then redirected to communicate with Michael who state himself to be the manager. Michael informed us that our application was not complete due to a fee of 50$ and that we had not been approvedâthis directly contradicted the emails and conversations we previously had with Ashley.
To avoid further delays, we paid the remaining balance, only to then be told that we were denied due to reports that allegedly did not meet criteria. Upon reviewing the report, it stated concerns with criminal history, eviction history, and credit. This was extremely confusing, as I have never been evicted, have no criminal history, and while my credit may not be perfect, it is certainly not poor.
Overall, the experience was disappointing due to significant miscommunication, inconsistent information, and a lack of follow-up. It seemed that staff members were not on the same page, which resulted in unnecessary confusion and frustration. This process could benefit greatly from clearer communication and better coordination.
