The only reason I’m giving one star is because of the front desk staff and maintenance workers — they’re the only ones who have shown any professionalism or sympathy. Since moving here in January, we’ve experienced a stolen license plate, ceiling and window leaks that took weeks to repair, a vandalized and STOLEN car, and black mold found behind the shower and in nearly all of the vents. The building manager has shown little to no concern regarding these serious issues — responding with comments like “that’s not our problem,” laughing off the health risks of black mold, and even questioning whether or not my partner lived at the complex because she “didn’t know who he was.” When she doesn’t want to answer a question over the phone, she simply goes silent instead of providing a response. The regional manager, Tonya, has repeatedly promised to call us to discuss these matters, but only does so during regular work hours (which isn’t an issue) — the problem is that she leaves no direct contact information “to avoid being bombarded” and never follows up later in the day as promised. Corporate is equally unresponsive — don’t waste your time emailing the address listed under other reviews; they will not reply (and apparently aren’t even allowed to). I am currently 10 days out of my apartment (with no rent reduction or reimbursement) and have not received official notice that it’s safe to return. According to the manager, “they are not allowed to tell us if it’s safe to re-enter or not and it’s up to the contractor and how we feel.” Yet the contracted company also cannot give us that answer. Several other tenants and staff members have also reported stolen or vandalized vehicles, yet management has failed to notify residents or take meaningful safety measures beyond adding a few lights. Management claims their “safety measures” consist of the Baltimore Police Department — who have no presence in or around this complex. We requested to end our lease just one month early due to ongoing health and safety concerns, and they still refused. It’s clear that this management company cares more about collecting rent than protecting its tenants. I hate to write such a negative review, however I am beyond frustrated at this point and have no idea where to turn other than filing with the courts, which has already been done. I wish I had believed the warnings from other reviews. Do yourself a favor — read them carefully and stay far away from this property

I'm writing this review because it's unfortunate that this establishment has no sympathy for long-term tenants such as myself, who have lived at The Brittany Apartments in Pikesville, MD since 2018. I've not given them any problems, have never been late on my rent, and, at times, never complained about the many issues with my unit and how long it takes them to resolve issues when I did report them. The maintenance people are horrible and lazy, and the leasing staff seems incompetent. The staff that was here when I first moved here was great but has since changed. When I moved in back in 2018, I was happy to be a resident, but I have watched this community go down the drain. There's dog feces everywhere and weed smoking that will definitely smell your unit up if someone smokes it in the building. It's just gone down. I sent an email requesting that my rent not increase this year due to my suffering from a severe bout with cancer and having to pay for meds, but I was denied. I was told that a lot of residents put in requests for no rent increase but were also declined. I think it's horrible that there is no sensitivity concerning my situation seeing that I keep to myself, obey the rules, don't complain, deal with issues that I should report, etc. I'm not blaming the leasing staff because they don't make the decisions, but it's just unfortunate that people aren't even human anymore. So, now I can't get the meds I need to live because I have to worry about having a roof over my head. I would not recommend this place at all. At one time, I would have, but not any longer. RUN and don't look back.

The leasing office staff were so sweet but the bugs on the ground floor were absolutely disgusting. If you are afraid of spider crickets do not live there

Never move here. My father has lived here 8 months they constantly threaten, blackmail. The water and hvac has never worked correctly. He was mugged in March and they refuse to give the police the photos of the suspect. They waited 5 months then they claimed he never renewed the lease. This is the scam they pull for they can get double the rent. Also the our floor under the bathtub fell on the elderly man under us because they refused to caulk around the tub. This is abuse of an elderly man. Now they are saying he has to pay 3750 per month this is abuse of an elderly man. No air conditioning, water that doesn't get hot. Constantly threatening, blackmail and accusations. Do not move here I wouldn't even suggest my worst enemy to move here. There isn't an option for negative stars but if there was that's what I would give.

I would not recommend the Brittany to move to unless it is only option and you're doing a short lease. Since I been here i will not say it's been the worse experience, but it can be better. HVAC unit went out a couple times in the middle of the night during the winter. Pest outside and inside of building, owners not cleaning up behind their pets. Property manager has sent me letter violating me for a grill I don't own and have yet to remove it from my profile. Recently there has been a few situations in which safety is involved. A month ago, I witnessed this teenager jump a older man and steal his car. Two weeks after that situation there was a car with all four wheels were stolen and the car was sitting on a crate. The old court train station is right next to complex and there's an opening in the gate, so you people come from off the train and see random people walking through the neighborhood watching walking closely to car. There are no cameras on the property, so take that into consideration. My biggest problem with the Bittany even with all these other situations is a sheet of metal had come off the side of the building hitting my car on May 18. I contacted them on the May 19 and address the situation. I have talked to corporate on May 20th and till this day corporate have not called me back of answered my calls. I called the leasing office back May 29 asking them to get in contact with corporate and the leasing office has not called me back with no update. They want me to go through my insurance. Why would I use my insurance when you're not maintain the property, The Brittany is at fault for these damages to my personal vehicle and they are ducking my calls. They expect you to pay for their negligence, even if I pay for the damages, how do I expect to get my money back and you're not contacting me back now? Fair warning as a current resident.
