  Here’s my review of this apartment: If you want your security deposit back or a refund for the application fee then DO NOT APPLY.its been 4 months since I moved out and have yet to receive my SECURITY DEPOSIT. The reviews are not lying! See below: • Location is great — quiet area and the lake view was the best part. My unit faced the lake and I genuinely loved that. • Saw police activity about four times, usually due to loud neighbors. Still felt generally safe. • “Updated unit” really meant only the cabinets were new. Everything else was very old. • Washer/dryer were from the 1980s, stove from the 90s, countertops worn. • Hardwood floors were real hardwood — uncomfortable, dent easily, not modern plank flooring. • Walls are extremely thin. You hear everything above and below you, even TV shows. • Strong odors travel through the walls/vents. I constantly smelled weed and neighbors’ cooking inside my home. • Bathroom wasn’t updated at all. • Noise + smell issues were my biggest complaint. • The worst part: I still haven’t received my security deposit, even though I moved out November 4th and NOW ITS FEB 28.Working in real estate, I know they legally have 45 days. It’s been months.Leasing office says the check was “reissued,” but it still hasn’t arrived. My address was on file — they lost it.I’ve also seen others say they never got deposits or application fees back. This seems to be a pattern. • Overall: The lake view is the only real perk. If noise, smells, and unreturned deposits don’t bother you, fine. If you want less stress, look elsewhere.

  Don't do it! Don't be fooled. Would not recommend. The walls are thin. Everytime my heavy footed neighbor above me walks my apartment and my possessions shake. I can hear and feel every step he takes. Its like living under Godzilla. The apartment under me have two children who cry and shrill 24/7 making it hard to sleep most nights. I can hear one of the adults snoring right now. The trash area is always overflowing and random objects like old toilets have been left outside of apartments for months. I was told my apartment was newly renovated but it's falling apart. The imitation flooring is hard to clean and uneven. The cabinets are peeling. The apartment smells of weed and smoke even after repeated deep cleaning. The walls are popcorn textured making it nearly impossible to implement renter friendly hanging options. There are no tenant appreciation events. Neighbors aren't friendly when passing in the hallways. I could go on but I wont. Im blessed to have a roof over my head but I'm not proud to live here. Pros: Parking is always available, there are no bugs, closet space is good, outside storage is good and it's in a decent and convenient location.

  Lakeside Mill apartments is a beautiful place to live.. It is a very quiet community, nice layout, convenient location and overall a comfortable place to call home. I actually enjoyed my time here while I was a resident and the amenities are good for the price. The property is clean and the apartment itself was exactly what I expected. BUT… be prepared to exercise some patience when it comes to your security deposit. Everything during my stay was smooth and professional, but after moving out, the wait for my deposit turned into a whole journey. Communication with the office took Longer than usual to get answers so yes, the deposit process can definitely take longer than it should. The only down side of it all was how long it took for the management to issue me my security deposit. Other than that, If you’re looking for a calm place to live, I would still recommend Lakeside Mill any day! Just make sure you remind yourself to breathe when it’s time for that deposit refund. 😅
