  Moving out of there was the best thing for my mental health. I lived there for five years and the last years were a nightmare. Maintenance requests are ignored and marked complete. They raise the rent but do no improvements to the property or the ancient appliances. I paid a huge water heating bill and took a cold shower almost every night. Then there are the crime and safety issues. The teens who smoke weed in the hallways of the buildings which made my home consistently smelled like drugs, the open air drug market in the parking lot and in some cases the hallways of the buildings, the illegal fireworks, the fire department showing up a few times a month, and more. The police were always somewhere in the complex several times a week. They hired a security service for the overnight which did nothing but sit in his car while all this was going on. The kids learned his schedule and made to avoid where the car was parked. The management team was unresponsive, lied, or said they couldn’t help. And this just isn’t the local team. I even called Murn’s main offices and they were just as pathetic. Don’t move here. It’s inexpensive in Columbia for a reason and even then it isn’t cheap enough for what you will endure.

  Another reason not to live here stray cats that the neighbors have abandoned and the children are feeding. Management will do nothing about it

  I’ve lived here for 2 yrs and I’ve yet to have my house completely fixed. Management does not address issues maintenance half fix things then lie saying they gonna come back never do. They don’t have any emergency services on site which is crazy but they want you to have rental insurance. This community is a joke. I really wish Ive done my research before coming here. Definitely will be leaving soon.

  Moved in about 7 months ago and overall it has been a good experience. When we’ve needed things fixed maintenance usually gets it done within 48 hours and they are incredibly friendly. Our building is pretty quiet for the most part and the parking is great as well. The unit we live in is quite clean and we haven’t had any experience with pests. The only thing negative I would say is that utility bills are a little expensive and there are a lot of unattended children roaming around in the parking lot at all hours of the day but that’s more of a parent issue rather than the complex. Overall it’s a nice place to live especially being in the heart of Columbia.

  The worst! I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at The Brook at Columbia has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. The service here is consistently poor, and communication is almost nonexistent. Every time I have tried to speak with the manager in the office, she refuses to engage and has been openly rude. It feels impossible to get a straightforward answer from anyone. The leasing office repeatedly tells you that maintenance will come “soon,” but no one ever shows up. My maintenance requests have been marked as completed even when nothing was actually fixed. I have had ongoing issues with plumbing, appliances, and even basic structural problems with the walls. Despite reporting these problems multiple times, nothing has been resolved. This has been the worst apartment experience I have ever had, and I would not recommend living here to anyone looking for responsive management or a well-maintained home.
