  I’ve lived here for 2 yrs and I’ve yet to have my house completely fixed. Management does not address issues maintenance half fix things then lie saying they gonna come back never do. They don’t have any emergency services on site which is crazy but they want you to have rental insurance. This community is a joke. I really wish Ive done my research before coming here. Definitely will be leaving soon.

  Moved in about 7 months ago and overall it has been a good experience. When we’ve needed things fixed maintenance usually gets it done within 48 hours and they are incredibly friendly. Our building is pretty quiet for the most part and the parking is great as well. The unit we live in is quite clean and we haven’t had any experience with pests. The only thing negative I would say is that utility bills are a little expensive and there are a lot of unattended children roaming around in the parking lot at all hours of the day but that’s more of a parent issue rather than the complex. Overall it’s a nice place to live especially being in the heart of Columbia.

  The worst! I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at The Brook at Columbia has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. The service here is consistently poor, and communication is almost nonexistent. Every time I have tried to speak with the manager in the office, she refuses to engage and has been openly rude. It feels impossible to get a straightforward answer from anyone. The leasing office repeatedly tells you that maintenance will come “soon,” but no one ever shows up. My maintenance requests have been marked as completed even when nothing was actually fixed. I have had ongoing issues with plumbing, appliances, and even basic structural problems with the walls. Despite reporting these problems multiple times, nothing has been resolved. This has been the worst apartment experience I have ever had, and I would not recommend living here to anyone looking for responsive management or a well-maintained home.

  Review: I currently live at The Brook at Columbia, Apt 03 (5352 Brook Way) with another elderly tenant. I am an older adult, and for almost 30 days, we have been without proper heat, despite multiple maintenance requests and emails to management. The office has failed to respond in a timely manner, leaving the apartment uncomfortable and unsafe. Management shows no respect or urgency for tenants’ well-being, even for those who pay rent on time. There is only one phone number to call the office, and it is impossible to know who the manager is or reach them directly. Due to their repeated failures to maintain essential services, I am considering contacting tenant protection authorities. If you are considering renting here, be aware that you may face delays in critical maintenance, poor communication, lack of respect from management, and difficulty reaching the responsible staff.

For almost a month, my mother-in-law has been dealing with a serious issue with the air conditioner — it doesn’t heat — and even with the very low temperatures, no one solves the problem. Several people have already gone to the apartment, but the issue remains exactly the same. Because of this, she ended up developing a very strong cold, since the apartment stays cold all the time. On top of that, the office staff is rude. They are unhelpful and have even hung up the phone on us. I do not recommend this place at all. Avoid the headache.
