I have lived there for two years. I found the management very helpful and approachable. The maintenance team was always responsive.

I loved living here. The location is fantastic, it’s near everything, but tucked in its own little tranquil spot. The walking trails are awesome and might be the best perk of living at this location. I never had any maintenance issues during my stay, but I would always see Mr. Kenny around the complex and I knew I would be quickly helped if anything ever came up. I had two minor paperwork hiccups during my stay, but each time a quick drop-in to the leasing office and Brittany was able to help me get it squared away. I highly recommend living here.

Stayed here for a month to visit my uncle. Nice place, nice community, nice neighbours, nice staff. Made a couple new friends and attended a pool party which was really welcoming and fun, the place had a trail going through the forest and into a nearby park which was where i made my new life time friends the park was also really nice and had alot of playability and as a person whos been to the USA only once this place really showed me what the American dream felt like and it showed me around the small trails and and lively places throughout this small town and Eagle Rock became my sense of home when i was there and will always be, if i ever comeback to the US in the future even though my uncle might have moved i will make sure to give this place a visit and give Columbia a visit. Overall Eagle Rock apartments and Columbia, Maryland was my first and best impression of America and the American dream, it showed me that this life really existed and i whould like to thank everyone here including the friends i made, the Eagle Rock staff, every neighbour i talk to or walked pass, and everyone else that made my stay felt like home. In conclusion Eagle Rock and Columbia is and always will be in my heart until the end of time, 5 out of 5 stars... goodbye the childhood i had here...

I absolutely loved this property until about a year ago. Management is the worst I’ve ever worked with and they have no understanding of customer service. It is impossible to get ahold of the property manager or get accurate information from the staff in the leasing office. It seems like no one knows what they’re doing – evident in the fact that each person you talk to gives you a different, conflicting answer. Corporate is just as hard to get ahold of. I moved out in July and have yet to receive my direct deposit. The check they send initially did not have the correct address and it has been an absolute nightmare to get the check recut. I was in contact with the local office at the end of September when they assured me that they would reach out to the corporate accounting department to request a new check. A few weeks went by and I still had not received anything so I called again. I was told that the request was sent and that they would reach out to accounting to check the status. They never called me back. The next few weeks I would try calling for an update but, conveniently, the manager was always out when I called. I was always told that they would call me back, however, I never heard a peep from them. With frustration building and no check to be seen, we put in few calls to corporate to get to the bottom of it. In early October, we finally got ahold of someone at the corporate office who apologized for how badly this was handled. She admitted that there was no request in their system from the local office to have the check replaced and promised to get the check recut and sent tomorrow – she said she would call when it was complete. Yet again we received no call back. I gave it two weeks to see if I received the check in the mail but it never came. So we called again. I got ahold of someone in the accounting department at Corproate in early November and they told me that there is no record of the second check being processed (or even requested). Unfortunately, she told me I had to go through the local office to get the request submitted. So I called the local office (again), and, again, conveniently missed the manager – I was promised she would call me back by the end of day. I have yet to receive a call back. If you need anything done from a maintenance perspective, good luck. Although Mr. Kenny is a bright spot, management puts him in a tough position. At one point while I was living there, the dryer died in my unit. We put in a service request, and they came to take a look pretty quickly, however, it took 3 weeks to actually get the unit replaced. We were given no updates and had to call to ask multiple times to ask when the dryer would be delivered to which they could never give an answer. They would tell us “I’m not sure, we will tell you when it gets delivered”. They lacked any sort of empathy for the situation. We would have been more than understanding if we knew up front that it would take 3 weeks to replace the unit. Another maintenance issue is when our AC stopped working in June. They came quickly to evaluate the situation and gave us an an-window unit and said that they were calling someone to come look at it. Two weeks (and no resolve) we went through a heat wave where our apartment would be 90 degrees. We had to call and get an extra in window unit – Mr. Kenny did that quickly, but still there was no sign of our AC unit being fixed. We learned in this process that multiple units had been out for even longer than ours had. Overall, it took about 3-4 weeks to get fixed... in the middle of summer. If you are lucky enough to not need anything from the front office, this is a great place to live but I would rethink before signing a lease with them.

The area is awesome, loved our apartment HORRIBLE INCOMPETENT MANAGEMENT THAT DOES NOT VALUE YOU AT ALL, just your money. Only good thing about this place is their maintenance guy I think his name is Mr. Kenny, he was great, overworked and run by poor management but did his best. But we Had multiple issues with management fixing essential issues in our apartment. First, Our old dryer’s motor broke, they send Kenny and he tells us we will have a replacement soon. One month goes by and still nothing, management wouldn’t return calls, wouldn’t try and help and just told us it was out of their control. So in our very expensive apartment we couldn’t do our own laundry for an entire month. No apologies or nothing. Second, During the heat wave this summer our a/c went out, their solution was a small window unit for the time being. Maintenance was quick in doing so (not management) the maintenance man, Kenny is absolutely fantastic, fast, and great at his job. However OUR UNIT STAYED AT 85 DEGREES PLUS ON AVERAGE AND WOULD REACH 90 degrees during the day. Sounds illegal and DANGEROUS. I called the office every other day for updates in which they would say “we are waiting on parts it’s out of our control” with zero sympathy, apologies, solutions, and with an annoyed tone. This lasted more than a month in a Maryland summer with a heat wave. No solution before we moved out. Our last month in the home we loved was 86 degrees inside in average, and 90 degrees plus at times (I have all of it documented). Third issue, We moved out in June, had zero damages after review and were told we’d receive our full security deposit, signed for the deposit, and gave them the address to send it to. It is now mid November and they still have not given us our security deposit. Every single time I call the Columbia office the manager is once again magically on another phone call. I am not exaggerating every time, at least ten times “she is unavailable and on a call but I will have her call you right back”. Just like before, no return calls. I lived in this unit at Eagle rock for 3 years the office was rarely busy and I never had to wait for help when walking in. Now, however, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE RETURN PHONE CALL since reaching out for help. I was finally able to speak to the manager one time after telling her assistant I would seek out legal advice, the manager told me a check was cut and on its way. Fast forward 2 weeks later same cycle, I call back, manager is busy on a call, and then never returns my call. I finally get a hold of corporate, they are super apologetic they can’t believe this is happening. They look up the check and tell me it actually has not been cut or sent yet. They are again super apologetic and tell me they will cut and send a new check tomorrow and call me when they do. ONCE AGAIN NO PHONE CALL BACK. It has now been over 4 months since moving out, with ABSOLUTELY ZERO EFFORT from this company to make things right. THEY WILL TRY AND SCAM YOU OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY, they have zero urgency when solving pretty critical issues, and are extremely rude when asking for fundamental renting rights. Maryland law requires to pay security deposits after 45 days, I am currently seeking litigation and will be taking this horrible company to court! DO NOT RENT HERE. Loved the apartment and area but they could care less about you, your well being, and your home, they solely want to take as much money as they possibly can from you.
