PRIVACY INVASION ALERT! I have been a resident for about 6 months, and today I received notification that the management: entered my apartment without notice, took pictures, and "cited me" for the cleanliness of my apartment. I understand the apartment is messy: i work two jobs and have a busy life, but no insects or mold etc. There is no excuse for essentially breaking into the apartment and taking photos...do I just assume nothing was stolen? That no photos of our private items were taken? I don't feel safe in my apartment!
Update:
It's a month or so later at this point, and I wanted to be fair with my review and follow up.
MGMT said they had sent the entire building an email about the inspection about two weeks prior, as the only notice of entry into the apartment.
My issue with this is, I had been in the apartment at that point about 120 days, and in that time, by Gmail's count I had received over 200 emails from them. So much so, Gmail spam filters their emails. To that point, I had not received "important information" via email.
For example, when I owed them $50 for a lockout, I got a notification on this big TV they have by the mailboxes and a letter waiting for me with the doorman. Of course, they recognize you, so they'll stop you and let you know you have a letter. (Amazon usually, so helpful mostly)
All of that over $50.
But, I just get an email when they're coming in.
See my point?
After I stood up to MGMT, their response at first was to threaten more inspections and entries into the house. However, eventually they turned around and said they'd do more to let me know when they enter the apartment and they fired the assistant manager.
So, that'll bring it from 1 star to 2.
