it's been 5 years since i lived here. the way i STILL come back every now and then to check to see if this place burned to the ground as i always hoped it would tells you everything you need to know about how traumatizing it is to live here.
i look back at my younger self and feel sad for the girl that had to live under these conditions. i often think about this place when i look back on how far i've come in terms of being able to afford a nice place of my own. IT WAS THAT BAD!!!!!
trauma. literal trauma. no other place i've lived at has ever made me feel this triggering, visceral feeling besides when i think about the time i spent living at this apartment complex. TO. THIS. DAY. i was 20.. i'm 28 now. yeah... YEAH.
i was there in 2018-2021. it is now 2026. it does not matter whatever new management decides to take over this hell hole. nobody, NONE OF THEM care, and they NEVER WILL. they're all the same.
honestly i like reading the bad reviews because it validates the horrific conditions i went through at such a young age. the problems people that live there NOW are the same problems me and the rest of the community and allll the people that lived there before us had to deal with.
i like having a drink, smirking to myself, reading the reviews and think "yup. this place is just as pathetic as i left it."
i will probably actively pray on this apartment's downfall for the rest of my life.
do not live here ☺️😋!!!!

As a long term resident I’m forever grateful for Shauntel & Alacia !! They are very understanding and made my transfer process very smooth. This is definitely the best management this complex has had in years.

Very good people that are easy to work with. Rooms are in great shape and all the amenities are nice. It’s also super close to LSU, so it is very easy to commute to school and back.

We’ve had issues with mold and such, but the office people have done there very best to move us around and fix stuff. Don’t expect anything crazy.

Where do I start? When I first saw an advertisement for “The Cove at State Street,” i thought that I would be able to finally find an affordable rental listing close to LSU that would be decent and nice. Boy was I wrong. The entire property is dirty, covered in black tar and gunk in your stair wells that you will be walking on everyday and night because the elevators do not exist. The entire property is NOT SECURE. Holes in the fences, frequent car break ins (including my own jeep), and a “security” company that is more that a joke in its ability to prevent crime and vandalism in their property. The front office is sketchy with your finances and should not be trusted. Better get a good tool box because maintenance will not come because they are so understaffed and backed up all the time. Also none of the lights work outside in the stair wells so hopefully you also can afford a nice 25k night vision goggle set or else you will sprain your ankle. The pool area is constantly disgusting as I once found cut dreadlocks on the ground that was left their for 3 days. The gym looks like a grenade was set off inside and blew out the ceiling (holes in wall, ceiling etc) Units are very small unless you get a 3 or 4 bedroom. There was an apple that was left in our stairwell for 8 months. If you live here, my advice is to get your hopes and expectations as low as they can possibly go because not only will you be paying PREMIUM dollar for anything more than a studio or 1 bedroom, but you will be constantly reminded everyday on how much of a terrible financial decision you tragically made. Whatever “The Blows” responds to this email saying, ignore them and live somewhere else ANYWHERE else!!
