UPDATE: I want to update my original review now that this situation has been fully resolved. Initially, my experience with the Muse was very frustrating due to consistent misinformation about short-term lease fees. Over multiple tours, phone calls, emails, and conversations with staff and the AI chatbot, both my friend and I were repeatedly told that the short-term lease premium was a one-time $200 fee, when it was actually a monthly charge. This misinformation directly impacted our leasing decision. Before leaving my review, I raised this concern with management and asked that the one-time fee be honored based on what we had been consistently told. At that time, management (Riley) declined to do so. After I posted my Google review, a Muse marketing representative reached out, acknowledged the miscommunication, and worked with us to resolve the issue. Once documentation was provided, Muse honored the one-time fee for both of us as originally communicated, and we have now both signed our leases with this agreement fully executed. While the initial experience was stressful and misleading, I do appreciate that Muse ultimately took responsibility and followed through to correct the situation once it was escalated. I still strongly recommend that future renters get all fees in writing upfront, but I also want to acknowledge that the issue was resolved and honored in the end. _______________________________________________________________ My friend John and I had a very frustrating and misleading experience with the Muse regarding their short-term lease fees. Over the course of two weeks, we spoke with multiple Muse representatives, toured the property twice with different tour guides, and contacted them by phone and chatbot. Every single person we spoke with confirmed that the short-term lease premium was a one-time $200 fee. Only after moving forward did we learn that the fee is actually charged monthly. At no point was this disclosed, and there is no clear information online stating otherwise. We even called again just before reaching out to management and was again told it was a one-time charge. We made our leasing decision based on consistent information provided by Muse staff, and management (Riley) refused to honor what was repeatedly communicated. This feels misleading and unprofessional. I would strongly caution anyone considering a short-term lease here to get everything in writing and verify all fees in detail before committing.

TLDR: Absolutely DO NOT sign with Muse Bowling Green. My girlfriend moved into the Muse 3 months ago. She signed the lease online having never been to this place. I helped her move in and immediately knew it was going to be a bad experience and I was concerned for her safety. The first day I walked around the complex with her some menacing mean mugging homeless guy was staring at us and following us from a distance. Features of Muse Bowling Green: -One really cool and hardworking maintenance guy. Unfortunately ten of him are needed due to the behavior of a good portion of the tenants and the surrounding homeless population constantly passing through if not loitering and up to no good on the property -Chicken bones and used tampons on the sidewalk -petty theft of unsecure items whether from vehicles or even a simple plant on your patio -complex digital locks that are difficult to use and will lock you out if the battery is low or if it is setup wrong initially (my girlfriend's was) there is a physical key hole in the lock but management refuses to give those keys to residents and does not promptly respond to lockout calls -very cool garden features where you can pick vegetables -a nice pool (that was full of green stagnant water for most of the season) -office staff is unfriendly often unhelpful -inadequate security on all fronts -maintenance is not empowered to fix issues with anything other than half assed bandaids Muse Bowling Green is truly a dystopian nightmare of young college students and athletes somehow convinced to live under the same roof as people who throw trash on the ground right next to the trash can. All this surrounded by homeless encampments and a sketchy motel and gas station. My first time at the gas station I saw someone buy drugs from a shirtless man in broad daylight. My girlfriend called to report a gas leak smell/concern on the phone they said someone would be by to check it out, that never happened. Some of the tenants certainly have biological hazards in their plumbing and filthy apartments breeding roaches and management will not do anything about it other than send someone to spray the clean apartments that are victimized by the roach breeding ones. One maintenance man spends all his time flirting with girls at the pool and nearly causes accidents driving his truck. He should be fired and ten more like Keith (the funky hair golf cart guy) should be hired to fix SOME of the problems. Management should be more selective of tenants. Being on the wrong side of the tracks creates understandable challenges but instead of addressing these challenges management fully ignores and enables all of the issues to fester. This could be a nice place, but it is certainly not.

*****READ BEFORE RENTING!****** Raw, unbiased, and genuine review. Genuinely the most nightmare apartment to rent from. Countless “we want as much money as possible” fees, lousy security, SUPER UNORGANIZED office, and amenities are not even worth it. I regret ever renting from The Muse. 1. AC never getting fixed, thermostat set to ****60**** DEGREES…. Room is sitting pretty at 87 DEGREES! 2. Never got compensated, and we gave up fighting for it. they offered another unit instead for my roommates and I to stay in. ****INCONVENIENTLY AT THE OTHER END OF THE COMPLEX!**** 3. CRIME CRIME CRIME. 4. Weed all throughout the area, so not sure if that’s a bonus or a negative. Take it as you want. 5. Wrong side of the tracks, sketchy neighborhood, sketchy gas station, just an overall terrible area. If you don’t want to be scared of walking to your car at night, don’t live here. 6. Bad area = Bad people dilly dallying all throughout the apartment, especially in the middle of the night! 7. Homeless people jiggle car doors to see what they can get away with. Surveillance you ask? None. Besides a ring camera that 80% of the time isn’t working/charged, or catches the absolute last minute of something. 8. SECURITY?? Is never around when necessary. Call for them, but don’t be surprised when they get to the scene too late. 9. LOW RATES = SCAM! They will genuinely try to scare you into thinking you will be paying more. The whole “last day to sign/resign with the lowest rates” is just a tactic to get you to sign ASAP. 10. U N O R G A N I Z E D. i dont know if being run by students, or if management is too worried about partying is at fault of this. 11. POOR INSULATION = HIGH UTILITIES !! winter? cold? heat up? RIGHT OUT THE WINDOW/CRACKS IN FOUNDATION. You will literally be paying to throw money out the window. 12. DOG POOP EVERYWHERE. I know that maintenance is super cool. The office, fun to talk to. What I don’t stand for is lying, and scamming people into thinking they’re getting a great deal. You are better off looking at WALK2CAMPUS, rent a real house with your friends/roommates. Check out literally ANY OTHER apartments. When you are thinking about signing with an apartment, ASK AS MANY QUESTIONS AS POSSIBLE!!! If you call and apartment and ask “what are the measurements of the rooms?” AND THEY DONT KNOW?? Red flag, don’t rent. Rent somewhere where the office knows their units, and are very knowledgeable of their location. TOUR TOUR TOUR. make sure to tour a unit YOU WILL be living in. Inspect it. You at the end of the day are responsible and will have to face your apartments faults and problems! Rent somewhere where they believe in supporting their tenants.

Josh and Keith are absolutely awesome! They’re the maintenance team here at The Muse BG, and they go above and beyond every single time. Not only are they super helpful with apartment related issues, but they even took the time to help me out with my off-road electric scooter. Something outside their usual responsibilities. That just shows how genuinely kind and willing they are to lend a hand whenever they can. On top of that, they always have a positive attitude and make sure everything goes smoothly. Loving my experience here at The Muse already, and Josh and Keith definitely make it even better. - LS
