  Please don't waste your time buying from clayton homes. First of all they make you feel really good and use their partner mortgage company who are scammers by the way called vanderbilt. Vanderbilt has a law suit out against them from giving risky loans to people who they know can't afford it but will lie and say you can afford it to make the sale. In the first year of living in the house the floors creak really bad and bubble up. We had problems with the water heater leaking and had to replace parts. Clayton homes never put the pipe in to my guest bathroom so for 2 years straight the toilet water was going straight under the house. Then another year later a pipe busted out because it wasnt glued together making waste going under our house again! Had problems with the furnace leaking water and it had a recall on it. Cracks in the top parts of the walls and the duct work was poorly done because it was freezing cold on one side of the house and really hot on the other side. The dishwasher quit working after 2 years. Then when you call them about the problems that happened in less then a year of owning they say "were not your landlords" I'm sure there was other issues that happened that I can't think of right now but I definitely would steer clear of this Clayton homes and all Clayton homes all together especially if they use vanderbilt mortgage and finance as their lender.

  First of all, this place will talk you out of a warranty.. second of all within 3 years of owning the home, the plumbing just fell apart.. plastic pipes throughout the entire home held together by glue.. walls and one bedroom started to buckle.. floor area between the kitchen and front room where the seam as, started to bubble up. They offer no help after the sale.. you get what you get.. which in my opinion is the shaft. I'd never buy another Clayton home. And their financing department, uses Vanderbilt. Yeah don't go to them either. Even if you go to another place if they use Vanderbilt I'd walk out..

  Do not ever buy from this company. First they are overpriced. Second, they do not put their homes together correctly and use cheap construction. They didn't put the plumbing together properly and sewage was running under the trailer for over a year before a plumber was finally called at our own expense and discovered. Their loan company, Vanderbilt are a bunch of crooks and raise the mortgage on you and will not work with you to get payments that you can afford. They gave a 3 day notice to get out and they changed the locks! Clayton and partner, Vanderbilt have some kind of scheme going on and I warn you all not to trust this company.
