Although it is older than a number of similar apartment complexes around 135th Street, the Sovereign has lush landscaping and a walking trail around surrounding a small valley. A new management company has shown that it is pro-active in terms of maintaining the property and individual apartments. They are responsive to maintenance requests and staff is friendly and helpful. The clubhouse has an Amazon Hub and is welcoming to residents who want to meet their friends for cards, coffee or Sovereign sponsored activities. Although there are newer complexes in the area, their bedroom square footage is less than the Sovereign's. There is plenty of room for a home office in most of the bedrooms at the Sovereign's. The only regret is that when the complex was newly built, the builder chose to number each of the 24 buildings with the same apartment numbers. Consequently, when a delivery person looks to deliver a package for apartment 203, they may deliver it to the first apartment 203 they see and not determine the actual building number. This leads to packages being delivered to the wrong address on a regular basis. With well maintained amenities, attached garages, great management and lovely surroundings, it is a pleasant place to live.

Since the change in management to Nolan Living this community has done a 360 flip in living here from the previous management. The grounds are taken care, the office staff is so friendly and helpful with anything you need. The Maintenance staff - Mike (Maintenance Manager), Edgar, and Kim got above and beyond when it come your maintenance needs. I have needed a new water heater, new disposal, furnace problems all in the last month and they have have been so helpful getting everything fixed. Cuddos to Mike for sticking with me trying to figure out what Smart Thermostat would work with heating and cooling system. Do not hesitate to give the Sovereign at Overland Park a look.for your living needs!
