I lived in this apartment complex a few years ago and truly could not wait to break my lease. Almost 3 years later, I received a blank email with a "final statement" and a letter regarding debt I didn't know existed - so here are my brief thoughts. Starting with move in, I walked in and there was a layer of soot that took multiple days to clean so the bottom of my feet and my belongings weren't covered. It was dirty and very outdated and the whole building smelled like smoke every single day. My maintenance requests were not taken seriously. At one point my water heater was leaking so much and on the verge of bursting that after many ignored requests it started seeping into the apartment below me. I would step on the ground and water would come up from below the floorboards, but when the nice man below me finally called he was taken seriously long before I was. There was mold in the air vents, the tub glaze was constantly peeling so mold would grow under that, and I'm sure there is now mold under those floorboards. When I mentioned all of this and more to management at move out they simply said, why didn't you tell anyone when I had done so probably upwards of 8 times. It is not safe. It is not quiet. There were disturbances so loud that I could not sleep or study at least once a week. People's cars were stolen out of the parking lot on multiple occasions. There were lots of people in and out of the building that had the key code that I know did not live there. I had pieces of mail that were taken, sifted through, and then returned to the mailbox area opened. There were wasps and wolf spiders and roaches. I was originally going to hold off on this review, but now that I am still apparently dealing with this place, here it is. I would recommend looking anywhere else.

I’ve lived in this apartment for two years, paying $1,400 a month, and the quality of basic fixtures—specifically the window blinds—has been extremely disappointing. In my living room alone, I currently have 10–12 broken blind panels. For context: • I have no kids • I have no pets • I do nothing more than open and close the blinds daily as intended So please explain how that many panels break under normal use. This is clearly cheap, low-quality material being installed, not tenant damage. What makes this worse is that I was charged a $60 repair fee for blinds that are obviously defective. If these blinds were actually worth $60—or made with any level of durability—they would not have broken this easily or this quickly. Charging residents for replacing poorly made fixtures feels less like maintenance and more like a money grab. Blinds are a standard apartment feature, not a luxury upgrade, and after paying over $33,000 in rent over two years, I shouldn’t be dealing with blinds that fall apart from normal daily use—let alone being charged for it. This situation raises serious concerns about: • The quality of materials used • Accountability for wear-and-tear • Fairness in repair charges I expect better maintenance standards and transparency for what residents are paying for. At this price point, basic items like blinds should not be this fragile, and tenants should not be penalized for manufacturer defects.

For anyone who is reading this I am a current resident and I have had an excellent experience residing at Benttree Apartments. The maintenance staff is an A+ quality especially Dennis who is not only friendly but a professional with proficient expertise and an intelligent thinking individual that fixes problems with what I would say is minimal effort.

I woke up one morning to go to work, to see my car had been STOLEN off the lot. It was totally gone. Glass everywhere. I went straight to management and begged them to go through their camera footage (a camera was pointed right at where it happened) and they refused, stating they only go through camera footage if the police asks for it?! I have never felt so unsafe, so unprotected, so violated. They could have chosen to do the right thing and help me get my car back, but they didn’t. This isn’t a law, it’s their own rules they made up to keep them from being liable. Do NOT move here. When you we in need, they will leave you at the side of the road. I even moved into another apartment before my lease was up because I was so terrified to sleep there. Look anywhere else.
