My b ame is Kathleen Sarpy and I live at Hanover Place. I moved in January 2, 2025. I chose Hanover place because they accepted my daughter who was 42..no other sr place would take her even tho I was well over 55. We have a lovely 2 b bedroom apt. It is on first floor and is beautiful. Since moving in I was c chosen to be on resident council.i love serving at affairs, I just love to help others. Im sad that Melissa no longer works here. Her arts and crafts were fantastic
.we were to make tye dyed shirts and something occurred and she was no longer working here...still waiting for a good replacement for her. She was a gem.
We have so many activities..I'm in book club, trivia group, family feud team, we go to restaurants and stores each week..tailgate party..Superbowl party and new years eve was phenomenal...it's so much to do that I have a hard time finishing my book of the month with all going on. If you are looking for a wonderful 55 and over home...look no further..this is it.

My mother moved into Hanover Place Feb 2025. Jasmine Drew initially was the ideal property manager we thought when my mother first signed the lease. The unit that my mother requested Jasmine assured her that she would get it. When my mother was ready to sign the lease she claimed it was being renovated and it wouldn't be ready til May. My mother decided to get another unit since she was very eager to move in Hanover Place. My mother took another unit. OK this unit had ants and my mother told Jenna the second time and that's when that issue was solved. Now the issue that really made us livid was on July 6th the holiday weekend around 10 am my mother called and told me that she didn't have an electricity in her unit. It was turned completely off. I contacted Comed and found out that her bill had been paid so that wasn't the problem. We were very puzzled about her unit was the only unit that didn't have electricity. I am going to cut to the chase. I had COMED to investigate that Monday. COMED assured me that they didn't turn her electricity off because there was no need. However COMED said it was done INTERNALLY! When I told Jasmine about what COMED told me she was very rude, disrespectful and inconsiderate. Rather than be obnoxious we decided she wouldn't renew her lease for 2026. I can't say disconnected her unit but we do know it was done INTERNALLY.

This active adult community is awesome. The first level is where all the action and socializing takes place. They have many choices of where to hang out and what to do. In March they are starting with live yoga classes! Staff is responsive and friendly. Other residents (and their furry friends) are welcoming! Hanover Place Senior Living is the spot to call home if you are 55+ and looking for more then apartment livening.

It is a polished pig. Nice new furniture and carpet in the common areas (which really wasn't needed) while clothes washers don't actually clean clothes and the dryers are constantly out of order. Cable is always out, which is a big deal to someone with limited resources for entertainment. Moreover, it is said some units have no heat. Management has priorities completely backwards.
If you are interested in Hanover Place, please talk to residents first to see if it is the place for you. The outside and community rooms are beautiful, but make sure your unit is exactly as promised before you sign anything and move in. In addition, make sure you have the full lease in front of you when signing and verify your "move-in" date. Residents endure persistent blackouts on certain cable channels with Senior TV; internet goes down, sometimes for a day or three, and is very slow lately; same resident smoking right outside one of the main doors and you have to walk through a cloud of her smoke to go in or out; low-quality food items served at continental breakfast and even then they are sometimes from the day before and stale; smelly washing machines on the third floor; fob system broken for months, etc. Meetings, events and breakfast items are changed on a whim, with no regard or respect for the residents and their time. More often than not, "continental" breakfast is not fully ready on time, and employee always seems to be playing catch up. Management is only on site during normal business hours. Feel free to make a complaint, just know you will never hear back. Nancy
Hi Bethany - This is in reply to your response below. It's unfortunate that we have to communicate in this way. You are well aware of my issues and I have met with you, talked with you, and left messages regarding the same quite a few times. I actually never received any responses from you unless I was the one following up (for instance, the resident I reported repeatedly smoking at one of the main doors). And there has never been any resolution to anything. The issues with Senior TV have been going on well before I moved in - so at the very least 16 months. I have repeatedly asked you and other employees at Hanover for a name and number of someone in upper management at Greystar Co. besides Natalie, because she has been of no assistance to me in the past. I thank you for at least taking the time to read these reviews. Nancy
