Sweet location for a small subdivision tucked away in an upscale neighborhood. Perfect home type and layout for our lifestyle.
That’s the location. Now the review on the actual home, it’s quality and Pulte Builders.
BUYER BEWARE!!! Pulte Builders cut corners big time and the buyer is stuck. Once you are in the home you never hear from them again. I was shocked that not only did my kitchen cabinet doors have the soft-close feature, the cabinets are cardboard. I upgraded the kitchen twice… I explained the cabinets were a top priority in my home! I have redone three kitchens. It’s expensive and I wanted to make sure the cabinets were high quality. I was more than willing to spend the money upfront on cabinets so they looked great and last. Many of the doors are warped. Plus, right after I moved in I went to open a drawer and it fell off. Countertop is chipped.
The painting is terrible. They sealed in all the dirt and I am left with rough textured trim, walls and ceilings.
I didn’t want a fixer upper. I wanted to avoid having to spend $$$ to redo the kitchen, bathrooms, repair all the trim and walls so they can be repainted or replaced. Plus, all the additional expenses a new home needs.
UPDATE: I still have not heard from Pulte. I also have standing water against my foundation. Neither Pulte nor the building and code department of Wheaton will accept responsibility. The county certainly expects my check for the outrageous taxes I pay to live here.
UPDATE II: The new code says there must be fresh air intake. Pulte's fresh air is a hole 10 inches from the dirt, coming into your home, unfiltered and clogging your furnace. The high humidity had caused a stench of standing water coming through the vents, the inside of the furnace has condensation, and the coils froze. I woke up to a puddle of water under the furnace. Pulte is not responsible, according to them. They only give a 2 year warranty. It keeps getting better. And, the city of Wheaton could care less.
