Hamida showed my son and his girlfriend the apartment and was extremely rude throughout the tour. My son attempted to record the unit so he could send the video to me, and she told him he was not allowed to record. He stopped immediately and simply held his phone in his hand, yet she still told them she would end the tour. This is not an appropriate way to treat potential future residents. If she did not want to be on video, she could have calmly stated that so my son could make sure she was not in view. Her attitude and behavior were unnecessary and uncalled for.

We’ve really enjoyed living in this community. It’s been a great experience all around. The location is perfect: close to stores, restaurants, and main roads, yet tucked away in a calm and cozy neighborhood that always feels peaceful and safe. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax after a long day.
The amenities are another big plus. The pool area is clean, well-maintained, and a great spot to unwind or hang out with friends. The jacuzzi is a nice bonus. The gym may be on the smaller side, but it’s thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a complete and satisfying workout.
What really makes this community stand out, though, is the management team. Hamida, in particular, has been incredibly professional, kind, and responsive. She truly cares about the residents and goes out of her way to make sure everything runs smoothly. Whether it’s a question or concern, the response is always quick and handled with care. The maintenance staff also deserve credit for keeping everything in great shape. They’re efficient, polite, and dependable.
Overall, this apartment complex offers a perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and community. It’s a quiet, clean, and welcoming place that feels like home, and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a well-managed, peaceful place to live.

We’ve been living at Brookdale Lakes for 16 months, and the staff has been amazing. They’re always attentive and quick to respond, which makes us feel very comfortable here.
I’d like to give special recognition to Pedro, the maintenance manager. He is always on top of everything, truly cares about residents having the best experience, and consistently provides solutions rather than just pointing out problems.
Shoutout to Pedro and the entire Brookdale Lakes team for their excellent service!

Beautiful property, excellent maintenance — with a few caveats.
The lakefront setting is beautiful...cranes, little water gophers, fish jumping, and ducks with their ducklings. Geese control is excellent thanks to Hope, a Border Collie from Geese Chasers Chicago, and fishing is a nice perk. I also love that residents can have a grill if it’s used a safe distance from the property. Nature has its quirks: an owl that keeps me up and frogs on my balcony, but it’s a small trade-off for the scenery.
I’ve lived here for almost 8 years, and the main reason I’ve stayed is our maintenance manager, Pedro. He’s fast, professional, and fixes things right the first time, even bringing in specialists when needed. Albert, a newer team member, is always in a good mood, and he and Pedro make a great team. The property is generally quiet, which matters since I work from home, and I’ve mostly had great neighbors.
That said, rent is now creeping up to $3,000 for a two-bedroom. Pest control could be more frequent given the spiders (drawn by the water) and popcorn ceilings that make easy nesting spots. Monthly community events are typically during work hours, so they’re hard to attend. There’s also no landscaping behind my unit , just bare mud, despite the property having landscapers. And now we’re required to use Xfinity, which costs twice what I paid before and comes with customer service I’d been avoiding.
I’ve compared similar two-bedroom units in Naperville and found this property to be a minimum of about 35% more on average, which underscores the importance of excellent maintenance for me to stay this long. A beautiful, quiet, well-maintained property keeps me here, but at these prices and with extra costs like internet and DIY landscaping, I’m not sure for how much longer.
