If you want an apartment with no heat during the freezing Chicago winters and maintenance that doesn’t respond to emergency maintenance calls about it, move here! Nothing about my experience living here has been luxury or professional. These apartment staff have a trend with dishonesty and present as “genuine” during office tours. Once you move in you will see how they actually do not care anything about tenants. They charge overpriced rent for box apartments and avoid interactions with tenants when you see them in the hallways due to all the issues they actually know exist in these apartments that they will not address. I’ve had so many issues with my electricity since moving here where half of my apartment does not having electricity constantly! The maintenance staff has informed residents to buy surge protectors with their own money so the apartments can avoid spending money to fix the electrical issue that exists in this building! I had to spend weeks going back and forth with the staff before they invested in a professional electrician to come address the issue that still isn’t fixed! Can you imagine a luxury apartment with no heat, electricity issues and flooring that’s due for upgrades? Do not move here to put yourself, family and animals through torture! This is a real review, these apartments have a lot of concerning issues. I’m extremely frustrated with how heating is being handled in this building. There have been multiple weeks when I count the days (during the cold winters in Chicago) where temperatures have dropped into the 20s, 30s and 40s, yet the heat was not working, only the A/C was functioning. My apartment has been uncomfortably cold several nights that total to weeks during the winter, and I’ve had to repeatedly call the front desk week after week during the winter just to have the heat switched on. The issue is that management or staff are not proactively switching the system over when temperatures drop. This shouldn’t require tenants to constantly call and request basic climate control. Several neighbors are experiencing the same problem, so this is clearly a building-wide issue. What’s most concerning is the response from emergency maintenance on April 4, 2026 at 7pm. It was 40 degrees outside my apartment was freezing and I called due to the cold and requested the heat get switched on because only my A/C was working, I was told to submit a work order and wait until 6 AM the next morning for the heat to be turned on. Why would I need to submit a work order for emergency maintenance and why wasn’t emergency maintenance actually on call???? This is actually very concerning. Although maintenance knew about this I had to call again on April 5, 2026 to request the heat be turned on and instead of maintenance simply flipping the switch that takes about one-minute I was told I needed to wait until they finish something else. What about that interaction is professional? That effectively means being left in freezing conditions overnight. It raises the question, what is the purpose of emergency maintenance if situations like this aren’t treated with urgency? I don’t believe there’s truly emergency maintenance in these apartments on weekends. This seems like a basic operational responsibility. If the office is aware of weather conditions, there should be a system or schedule in place to ensure heat is turned on when it’s cold outside. Tenants should not have to chase down staff for something this fundamental. Management needs to address this immediately and implement a consistent, proactive process. Right now, it feels like whoever is responsible simply isn’t doing their job, and it’s creating an ongoing, unnecessary issue for residents.

The building and staff were great! My son looked forward to seeing Sabrina every morning before school. She was kind, patient, and always took a moment to talk with him. We truly appreciate her and the rest of the front desk team for making the Mason feel like home for us during our short stay.

Moving in this week has been long and tiring, but Sabrina has made the entire process stress free with her constant welcoming every hour I pass back and forth through the front door. She has been undoubtedly the most amazing part of this move and extremely helpful with anything I have needed to make the process smoother.
