  Beautiful amenities and friendly staff. The leasing office team is always available and tries to help residents, especially Nancy and Stole. I also love the social events in the building; they’re always so much fun!!

  I moved into the building a few years ago, and since the new property management took over about three years ago, things have improved a lot. The events they organize are top-notch, the building is clean, and all the amenities now have new furniture. The management staff is also very responsive and accommodating. Arina, the leasing manager, is especially helpful and always assists me with any questions I have. If you’re looking for a nice, vibrant neighborhood with parks and a river nearby, this is a great place to live. The amenities are excellent, and the units are spacious. I just renewed my lease again and look forward to staying here.

  10/10 Highly recommend! My student daughter lives here at The Grand Central and this is the best decision she has made as an adult! From the front desk to the leasing office ( the Russian lady) I forgot her name! Was so sweet! They have such fun events for the residents. I feel so safe when i visit the area is so nice! Walking distance from UIC and my dog loves coming over to get treats from the lobby!!! As a parent I was really scared for my baby to move out on her own and it feels good that I can feel confident in where she lays her head. Front desk lady was so nice and is always welcoming! 10/10 I may just move here myself when my lease is up if my daughter doesn’t mind hahaha 10/10!!!!

  I moved into this building at the end of October and within two days of moving in, my entire kitchen area was contaminated by foul-smelling debris and dirty water that came up through the sink drain. The smell was extremely strong and the situation was both disturbing and unsanitary. What made the situation even more concerning was that I later learned this was not an isolated incident and that other residents in the building had experienced similar issues. I immediately contacted management looking for a resolution. Despite the fact that several of my kitchen items and dishes were contaminated and had to be thrown away, the only compensation offered was $500, which did not come close to covering the damage or inconvenience. I also contacted 311 so the situation could be properly documented and inspected. The complaint was filed in December, but an inspector did not come out until March — three months later. By that time, of course, the original contamination had already been cleaned and there was nothing left for them to witness in real time, meaning no violation could be issued. It was incredibly frustrating to go through such an unsanitary situation so soon after moving in, and even more frustrating to feel like there was no real accountability from building management or urgency from the city to address the issue. For anyone considering moving here, I strongly recommend doing thorough research and asking current residents about building maintenance issues before signing a lease.
