First Rate Property Management was started in 1994
by Tony A. Drost, who has been an investor and property manager since 1990. In 2010, Melissa Sharone, MPM® RMP®, joined First Rate Property Management in the Leasing department after graduating from BSU with a degree in Communications. In the following years, Melissa and Tony worked closely to build and improve the company, and in 2017 Melissa’s husband, Jim Sharone, RMP®, joined the company to help takeover daily operations with Melissa. After almost a decade of planning, Tony was ready to phase out of property management, and in 2021 he turned business over to the capable hands of the FRPM team under the leadership of Jim and Melissa Sharone.

- RRRyanSep 24, 20251.0Too much to even describe. That's why you see these super long posts. Bottom line, it was a nightmare. I honestly feel pity for anyone that makes the mistake of renting from them. I could write a book, but I'll just touch on a couple things... Someone comes onto the property every other month taking pictures. Every 6 months someone comes in to check hvac. Someone comes in for a general inspection once a year. Sprinkler crew every 6 months. Some of these services are needed, but what is so traumatizing is that they slap a paper on your door the night before saying they're coming the next day. After a quick knock, they let themselves in. You wake up and someone is in your house. No notice for sprinkler crew. You just see them in your backyard. When you move, they'll bring over prospective tenants to tour your home. I never felt like I had peaceful enjoyment of the property and would often wake up wondering if someone was in the home. They sent a notice to all tenants saying that if you change the locks they will drill them to come in and then bill you. To Owner: Thank you for the response. In regards to the property owners, I often wondered how maintenance was handled. Some repairs seemed overpriced compared to what I know they should cost, which left me wondering whether owners are billed at cost, or is there an additional markup?
