  I lived at Stratford Pointe and would not recommend it to anyone. If you must communicate with management, make sure everything is done through email—never rely on face-to-face conversations. I learned this the hard way when we moved out. I had signed a three-month lease extension and clearly told them in person at the office that we would not be renewing after that period. A month before moving out, I even stopped by again to remind them face-to-face. Later, they claimed they never received an email stating we wouldn’t renew and charged us for an extra month. At no point did they ever mention there would be an additional charge—and they used the lack of email as an excuse. Always get everything in writing. We moved in with two cracked windows, and one day, without any notice, someone just started opening one of the windows from the outside. Imagine sitting in your living room and hearing that—completely unprofessional and alarming. The environment isn’t great either. Dogs bark constantly, even at 2 or 3 a.m., as people take them out at all hours. If you're heading to your car, be prepared—some dogs will bark at you while walking through the lot, and I’ve seen some very large dogs in the area. Sometimes I had to peek out of my apartment to check if any dogs were nearby before stepping out. It just didn’t feel comfortable. If that’s not enough, there were multiple police visits, eviction notices, and strong smells of marijuana and chemical odors throughout the hallways. The odor was so intense some nights that I had to leave and stay elsewhere. The trash area has rodents—you’ll see them around the containers, especially at night or early in the morning when taking your trash out. Random people knock on your window late at night, usually because they forgot their key fob and want you to let them in. Airbnb guests are also common, so there are always unfamiliar faces around, and parking is terrible. Always follow up with an email after any interaction, because otherwise you’ll likely hear: “I work with many people, I don’t recall that conversation.” This place is also pretty far out and isolated. For the price and the stress, there are plenty of better options out there. Don’t waste your time or money here.

  Knew this was the perfect place from me the second i seen my future unit for the tour. Quiet location, great neighbors, and amazing food around me!

  A fantastic place to live. The manager always goes the extra mile to ensure we are taken care of and treats us well, the quality of the apartment is excellent, and the entire property is lovely. I toured several apartments in the Waukee area, but none came close to the level of amenities and care for their tenants like Stratford Pointe has.

  I really like living here. It’s super quiet and always clean, which I appreciate a lot. The people around are friendly, and our lease manager is honestly the best—she’s always so helpful. Plus, having the fitness center right here makes things way more convenient.
