  I sent an email asking what the security deposit is and they sent me an email back trying to set up a tour which either means they are desperate for people to live there or they don't know how to read. I am going to guess it's a little bit of both. How hard is it to answer a simple question of how much is the security deposit? Evidently it's like asking them to solve E=MC².

  I love living here, just been here for a year, and so happy renewing my lease. The management has been going above and beyond for everything, and this is just an amazing place to live.

  When I toured the DM building I was very impressed with the modern and industrial look. Some things to take into consideration. 1) The windows in the apartment do not open. 2) The rooftop space is breathtaking! And hardly ever used so it felt like a personal oasis. The pigeons were a source of entertainment and the sunrises were amazingly beautiful! 3) Unfortunately, I did have cockroaches in my apartment. I don’t know how effective their pest control is. 4) I had multiple “mishaps” with office staff that resulted in me renting another parking garage after being locked out of the one I was renting from them. Which resulted in me paying downtown parking prices for a week. 5) HVAC issues. 6) Maintenance personnel were also very responsive to any needs. Renting an apartment here was an experience in downtown living. Not for me but if you thrive on night life I would give the DMB a try.

  Worst experience ever. I put a deposit down a month ago, hoping to have my apartment ready by the time I moved to Iowa especially since I was on a tight schedule due to being in the military and having all my stuff in a u haul. I have been talking to them for a month straight and gave them a deposit about a month before moving out. They started the process like a week before I left Virginia. I was told everything was going to be good for the date that I asked. I got here and they kept asking for more and more stuff and extending the move in date. At that point, I decided to look for other apartments because I had a set schedule due to being in the MILITARY. I found one and I got my keys that same day. I asked for my deposit due to this not being my fault but I was told I could not get it back unless I was disapprove which I agree, however, like I said it wasn’t my fault that they took to long and I had to find somewhere else to stay so that’s why I would like my deposit back…

  My time at the Des Moines building was amazing! It is in a great location and being connected to the sky walks let me roam about anywhere without ever really having to get outside. The building is super safe with multiple places that residents need to scan their keys to get to inside the building and to their floors. There is some noise from downtown traffic like sirens and motorcycles but that is to be expected living downtown. I would much rather hear this than the train that is near court and personally I enjoyed hearing/watching the different traffic go through downtown. Lastly the rooftop is a blast! The management even hosted a resident get together once on the roof where I was able to meet more residents and got some great food that they cooked for us.
