Highly unprofessional!
We were contacted by this estate agent to view a house that was previously sold before we could view. As the chain was falling through we were contacted to have a viewing. After viewing the property we put in an offer which was deemed sufficient and were specifically told was enough. After this conversation we pulled out of a possible purchase for another property as we liked this one.
We were then told that the sellers of the property would not accept or reject our offer until they had found a place to go to. Which we thought was odd as it had just been sold and was never communicated beforehand as it would need to be considered as per our selling situation. We were then basically put on hold while the seller went on holiday. We communicated that we were ok to wait but would continue to have a look at other properties just incase our buyers pushed.
Lo and behold a quick look on Rightmove, around 3 weeks since our offer had been placed the property is sold STC. The seller is still on holiday and the property has been sold back to the previous chain that fell through.
I must stress this information has never been communicated to us or why would we even bother proceeding knowing the rug could be pulled from under us.
A massive waste of time. Will avoid in future
Also the reply you have left is inaccurate. We called you back and told you we wanted to proceed with the offer. We called you and specifically told you. After you had called to say the offer was enough on the Thursday. I called you on the Saturday 2nd May. Paige was off she told me in the previous call. I told whoever answered the call we would like to proceed. You then rang me back and told me the sellers wanted until Tuesday to think it over. We then contacted you again that very same week! Don’t worry you’ll have it recorded. We contacted you numerous times. My estate agent also contacted you and you proceeded to tell them we had pulled our offer (which we hadn’t). I then spoke to you immediately after this phone call. We also contacted you on the 8th of May to follow up and Claudia told us they would not accept or reject until they had found a place and reiterated they were going on holiday. If you’re going to reply don’t lie about it.
Paige was actually pretty good with the viewing. To be perfectly honest.
In our last phone call which will also be recorded you also told us that it was always the intention to sell back to the previous chain and we had been informed of that. Which again we hadn’t. I’m sure it will be in a previous recorded call if so which I would like to hear
