We moved here after selling our house of 20+ years while searching for our next home. We could not be more satisfied. The quality of the apartment, the amenities, and the quality of how everything is maintained to top level is amazing. And between the management and the City of Woodstock, there are daily and weekly activities (concerts, farmers market, brunches, meet ups, parades, etc) to keep you busy.
And the setting even adds to it. We are one block from Main Street in downtown Woodstock. We never drive anywhere there as a 3 to 5 block walk takes us to all the great restaurants and shops. The physical layout of the complex looks like a side street in Georgetown (DC) or NYC. Someone driving through would not know it is an apartment complex unless looking closely since there is no gated street entry (personal security is by key-fob access to your building, so no one can get into your building and come to your door uninvited) and the streets are tree lined and kept manicured, and the flowers are constantly replenished.
My wife comments that it is like living on a college campus. Very dog friendly - seems about half the residents have a dog or two. (We have our own dog park and children's park on campus).
We may slightly delay buying a home, since this is such an experience. the only thing I miss is not having a 2-car garage like we did at home. Otherwise, no complaints. The Walton organization runs several complexes in the region and they appear to be a first class operation.
