I am a victim of Clayton Homes abuse and I believe it is because, I am a black female with a foreign accent. Even their reviews and communications here, show how they treat others who do not fall into this category. I have proof that they have treated me like a dog for 3 whole years, because of my race, gender and national origin. They intentionally damaged my 5 acre land, blocked my calls when I asked them to repair the damage, prefered to rather speak with my white fiancé even though he wasn't on the contract, and then when he pointed out their improper conduct, they reached out but they were rude, condescending and unapologetic. They have their team of lawyers as if to intimidate me. I am raised Nigerian, and I was raised by my father, hence I am my father's daughter. I will fight for my rights and will not let bullies go scot free, I never had, and I never will. I did not come to America in search of the American dream, only to watch a company scam me. I worked very hard to get to this point in my life, and i have lived in America for nearly 14 years now, made sure I obey the law, I worked hard to acquire my citizenship all by myself, I worked very hard to achieve a Masters degree here in the United States, with 2 other professional certifications, all by myself. I am not a lazy individual, I am not a leech. Therefore I will fight for my rights. If David in the Bible could take down Goliath with a single stone, then in this case, I am David, and I will not be intimidated, even if Clayton Homes chooses to hire 10 or more lawyers, I will stand firm, because the truth always prevails. Be careful doing business with this company, learn from my experience because their actions portray that of predators who prey on low income earners and the minority groups. People who cannot afford expensive lawyers, and who perhaps are unable to defend themselves. But this time, they have met me, I am educated and resilient and every single day that I show up in court, I am not just representing myself, I am representing the millions of people that perhaps have been wronged by Clayton homes, people without the resources needed to successfully fight back. Imagine someone damages your property, renders no apologies whatsoever, no remorse, and blatantly refuses to repair the damage, yet because they have billions of dollars, chose instead to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on lawyers to make you go away. Clayton Homes forged documents, their lawyers lied several times and assisted in submittingthose documents in court. What a shameless company, no credibility, no regard for their customers. Anyone doing business with them should be very mindful, do not believe any promises. Do not let them rush you into signing those papers, and make sure to have a witness during every interactionwith them. Morgan the manager speaks to me as though she thinks she superior to me. I strongly believe they hate black people, The way and manner they interacted with my fiancé was very telling, especially when compared to the rude, dismissive treatment I received. I moved to Tennessee from California and was trying to settle in and join the workforce here. Then I purchased a home from Clayton Homes. What followed has been a nightmare. I was initially told my payment would be placed in escrow after I paid in full, but the money was taken the next day without my consent and there was no escrow account. When the home was installed, it resulted in over $200,000 in damage to the property. Rather than repair the damage they caused, Clayton Homes altered the purchase agreement and forged their own signature to push for arbitration to try to silence me. What Clayton Homes has done to me is inhumane and unjust. I am now taking every lawful step to make the public aware of this situation so that other buyers do not go through what I have endured. I will also protest and raise public awareness about my experience. If I must stand outside their office with a sign and tell my story so other buyers are warned, I will. Buyers Beware!

I have to say our experience with Clayton Homes of Ringold has been absolutely 5 stars all the way... our sales person Sam Aiken was extra. He was very professional, knowlegeable, kind and very patient. He helped us from start to finish... always answering my text, calls and above all, kept us informed. He never bailed after the purchase (like so many sales persons do). I feel we have made a friend. Our construction manager Morgan was the same... top notch... always informing us and guiding all the way. We did a turn key and every person or persons along the way did an excellent job... from Mr Bob doing our grading to the rock and porch guy Mike Waters. Our area around the home was always kept neat. That says alot to me as well. So...if thinking about where to go... think no more... Clayton of Ringold and ask for Sam... tell him Marie sent ya! Happy home shopping!!

I recently visited family in Georgia and they purchased a home through clayton. I am a Contractor in Maine and had my tools in my truck which I brought down with me. They needed a few things done so i was more than happy to help family. A piece of trim came off and I told them i will reinstall it for them. I noticed the door was not installed properly. Then I noticed the shotty work on the hardware on the door. I then went through the home and found COUNTLESS issues and lack of craftsmanship. The front door was not installed level. It opens and closes but the entire hinge side frame was out of level by at least an inch. Many outlets were installed at angles. The angle of the outlet on the kitchen island was absolutely horrendous. It is square and center when you walk in and noticeable right off. I went through and looked at the trim on the doors around the entire house and the material used is junk and BARELY installed. Even the slightest bump against it would knock them off. The nails installing them went through the original material and then into the trim by less than a quarter inch and even some places only by an 1/8 an inch. The painting in many places made it onto the beams around the house. Some places in the house had drywall dust remaining on the walls and were just painted over. There is a leaky bathtub which I was told was leaking for awhile. They came to fix it but it started leaking again. They have called multiple times but no one has come to fix it. When they bought the house they were told the house would be ready to go in eight weeks. It was EIGHT MONTHS before there house was finally ready to go. As a contractor who has been working with homes for years I would highly suggest you go with a different company. These are the type of businesses who only care about the bottom line and getting things done as cheap as possible. This is completey unacceptable and these people need to be held accountable. I will be encouraging my family to file a formal complaint against this company with the better business bureau as well as upper management. This is possibly the worst condition I have ever seen a "new" home built. Absolute hackery. *I found multiple other things wrong as well. The flooring was installed over the subfloor which had nails sticking up from it. They were not nailed down before installation which created holes in the brand new flooring. We have found much more trim which was installed improperly and is not even attached. Or barely. *Last night my wife had to give my son a bath in the sink because the bathtub is still not fixed. *Whoever drywalled this house has no idea what they were doing or they did it in a hurry and didn’t care how it looked. There are multiple spots not sanded. The corners are horrendous and the drywall is already cracking in multiple spots. *The painting in the rooms is awful. They installed the trim first and then painted. There is paint all over the trim. *Speaking of trim- I noticed that in multiple areas throughout the house the trim was installed incorrectly. Giant gaps in between trim and walls/windows. I’ll continue to post as I find more before I leave. You tell me to have the family reach out but they have called multiple times with no response. They are told to scan the QR code for a service request but that either never gets answered or they are told someone would be out and they never are. Something must get done or they will be escalating this situation.

I've been working with Sam Aikens for the past two weeks and he has answered or returned every phone call and text very quickly (Even on his days off). Great to work with. Will update if/when I get my home.

The salesman we talked to was an absolute nuisance!! He did not listen to me AT ALL. I called to get information regarding purchasing a new home, gave him my budget, explained I wanted to put it on land and not in a community. He kept insisting that I put it on a rental lot, and kept giving me homes beyond my budget. I told him I wasn’t interested. A few moments later I get a call from him nagging me again. He is practically an annoying car salesman who doesn’t listen to, nor care about, what you say… It’s pretty clear too. He’s just trying to push a mobile home off the lot and get a commission/sale to his name. Again, he tried selling me homes that weren’t anywhere near my budget. I tried correcting him, but once again he failed to listen, and he went on and on about options I clearly didn’t want. From reading other reviews, I’m assuming it was George. I didn’t catch his name while he rambled useless information to me. In the end, he hung up on me. My guess is he could tell I was returning the favor, and not listening. I’d advise going elsewhere, because you probably won’t end up happy, and with a broken bank after this guy!
