Overall Experience:
-I was a long-term resident at The Barrett (managed by Fogelman Properties), and it’s disappointing how drastically the quality of living declined over time.
Pool & Health Concerns:
-The pool was closed for months due to reported unknown bacteria, with little transparency or urgency, raising serious health concerns.
Maintenance Issues:
-Maintenance was inconsistent, with frequent staff turnover and work orders marked completed without being properly fixed. Maintenance staff Ryan and Abel regularly asked residents to leave reviews immediately after service, even when issues were unresolved, leading to misleading positive reviews.
Cleanliness, Pests & Upkeep:
-Dog waste was widespread throughout the property, dumpster areas were consistently messy, and there were roaches in multiple buildings and around the pool area.
Common Areas & Security:
-The clubhouse often smelled like cigarettes, breezeways were rarely cleaned, and the gate was frequently broken, making security unreliable.
Parking & Packages:
-Parking was consistently limited, especially in the evenings, and packages were often left scattered or unsecured despite the Luxer system.
Final Thoughts:
-Despite charging premium rent, the living conditions did not justify the cost. As a former resident, I would never choose to live at The Barrett again and strongly advise prospective renters to stay far away.

The apartment is good to live in, but the maintenance crew should be replaced; they're terrible, and they make you waste your time and lose your patience. The apartment is good to live in, but the maintenance crew should be replaced; their service is of terrible quality. They make you waste your time and lose your patience. For the second time, they came here only to say they would come back another day. The question is, then why did they come at all?

I moved into The Barrett during the summer time and so far it has been great. Any time we have a question or a problem, we are able to easily reach the office and they are readily available to help. Maresa has been a HUGE help as well since she has given us our tour her all the way to today with her helping me with a package issue. I really appreciate the help and the attention they give the residents here.

The five stars is specifically for Ryan - the new maintenance manager. I have lived at this complex for the past three years. My experience has not been pleasant with the AC going out three times and the last one taking over 6 months to fix during 80+ degree weather in the summer. We also moved in with mold in our bathroom that has now spread. There was also a conflict, where the online portal wasn’t taking online payments. So I went to the office multiple times during work hours and called several times to have it addressed, and they were never there or answered the phone. Only for one day to receive an eviction notice and have to pay a $300 fine.
But the new maintenance team is fantastic. My garbage disposal was leaking, and Ryan came within the hour to fix it. He also saw my water pressure was low and offered to fix that as well. The new team gets everything done efficiently and are phenomenal. I was very satisfied and appreciate his hard work. Something like this usually takes a large amount of time, but he truly made living here more pleasant!
