The neighborhood itself is exceptionally quiet. The staff is always decent. I see some people have had problems with the staff but I haven't. The new property manager seems to be focused on improving the property and I can respect that it will take time.
The problems with these apartments start with the roaches. I buy concentrated bengal that you have to mix yourself to spray your apartment and make it a potent mix. Its strong enough to have you coughing and sneezing for 30 minutes after spraying if you do not leave immediately and all this does it keep them at bay. Clean constantly, don't leave anything out, wipe down any time you step in the kitchen, buy paper towels specifically for roaches, get roach motels and roach gel and you may be able to go a week only seeing two or three roaches. Somehow they do not get into the oven but manage to crawl on the stovetop from under the burners... I have sprayed and sprayed and all it does it keep them at bay. To me the solution is simple.. You know you have a roach infested apartment complex so at least have someone come spray every other month. You may not get rid of them all but consistently spraying and leaving traps may eventually get rid of them. I work from home and have to go in the office one week out of the month. I walk in the office every month paranoid because, even though I spray heavily, I have still seen one or two roaches come out of my bookbag that my laptop is in. Yes, its that bad even after continuous spraying.
Next, something is always leaking.. I have been here a year and a half. The only reason why I signed a lease for a second year is because I didn't want to find another place during the month both my daughter and I celebrate our birthdays.. Since my time here I have had a leak in the washroom, two near the ac unit in the hall that spread into the hall closet and one in the bathroom. The leak was so bad that I was dumping out water from buckets every day and switching out towels. It took two weeks to get that fixed and I am certain that the only reason it only took two weeks is because I threatened to contact the health department due to the mold that was along the walls in the hall and bathroom.. Keep in mind that the leak that I had in the washroom initially still had stains on the ceiling from the leak that they did nothing about after fixing that leak which was literally a month after moving in here... at least not until I took pictures of everything and sent it to them with the threat. Keep in mind that the whole time it was leaking for the two weeks my apartment smelled exactly like you would expect wet walls and carpet that keeps building up without being treated or fixed to smell. Im glad they replaced some parts of the walls but for the the most part they just painted over the drywall that I am assuming "wasnt that bad".
Lastly... nothing ever get fully repaired around here. Most things that need to get fixed turn into a "leave well enough alone" situation. I happen to be pretty handy and have even asked maintenance what would happen if I took care of the issues myself and the response was if something goes wrong then it would not be covered under your insurance plus you pay for the service. So instead of being able to take care of the issues at hand I have to sit and watch these temporary fixes that I know will resurface.
Apparently each apartment building gets heat and hot water through a boiler system that causes them to have to turn the heat on and off manually instead of a more modern system. Our building went through hearing the boiler start having issues for at least two months and it took the boiler to finally break down completely, leaving the entire building without hot water, for it to get fixed.

I just moved into this apartment, and I swear I’m not a problematic person, but it feels like no matter what I do, people start acting rude for no reason. I called the office yesterday to report that my fridge stopped cooling, but when I went in today to check on it, they said there was no report at all. I also went to make a report about the leak under the boiler.
When I got there, I asked MAKIYA if she could help me make the report since the one for the fridge was never submitted. I told her I didn’t know my username or password, so I couldn’t do it from my phone, and just asked if she could help me put it in on her end. That’s when she got irritated and said, “I already told you I’ll make the report for you,” with this nasty look on her face. It was so unnecessary and unprofessional.
I’m over here just trying to fix the problems in my apartment — stuff that shouldn’t even be broken in the first place — and somehow I’m made to feel like the problem. I just moved in, I don’t bother anybody, but if you look for me, you’ll find me. I honestly don’t get why it feels like problems follow me everywhere when all I’m trying to do is live peacefully.
