Trinity was so amazingly helpful. She's very knowledgeable about the surrounding area as well as the property. I appreciate how comprehensive the staff were and how fast they were able to help answer my questions. Trinity was a big help and able to elucidate on the application process. Highly recommend!
If I could give zero stars for my move-in experience, I would. My first few weeks at The Whitney were an absolute nightmare — chaotic, disorganized, and filled with miscommunication and false assurances.
I applied for a specific 2-bed, 2-bath, top-floor, sun-facing apartment after confirming everything in person. On move-in day, I discovered that my lease had been written for a completely different unit — a 1.5-bath, ground-floor apartment facing the opposite direction.
When I raised the issue, the leasing office — specifically Canecia — was defensive, dishonest, and unhelpful, insisting I had “changed my mind,” which was completely untrue. I spent days scrambling to rearrange movers, utilities, and schedules while the office deflected blame and avoided accountability. It was stressful, frustrating, and extremely unprofessional.
That said, I want to acknowledge that not everyone at The Whitney operates this way. Ashley, was the first person who actually took ownership and worked to fix what others had broken. She showed real professionalism and empathy when no one else did.
Since then, Tara, the new leasing manager, has been a major improvement to the front office. She’s proactive, communicative, and has done everything she can to repair the trust that was lost early on. And Rory, the maintenance manager, deserves huge credit — he is organized, dependable, and consistently responsive. In a property that struggles with structure, he’s the one person who never drops the ball.
My move-in was a disaster, and the property management’s lack of accountability made it worse. But I’ll also be fair and say that Ashley, Tara, and Rory have each worked hard to make my stay more positive since then.
If you’re considering The Whitney, know this: the management team I first dealt with was disorganized and unreliable, but the newer staff have made a noticeable effort to turn things around. I sincerely hope Venterra Realty continues supporting the people who actually care about residents — because they’re the only reason I didn’t walk away.
I lived here for 3 years before moving out. Many of the reviews you see that remain online mostly praise the leasing staff, but the reality of living here is very different. If you want to know what the property is really like, visit the grounds at night.
Pests: Roaches are everywhere—parking lots, trees, the dog park, and especially inside the apartments—despite residents paying a monthly pest control fee. Ground and terrace-level units are the worst, as roaches crawl under doors and windows. My apartment was infested with German roaches; I had to keep everything in sealed bags just to manage them. Cleaning with tea tree or peppermint oil would only make them crawl out into the open. It was disgusting. Even after they repainted the buildings, pests remained a serious issue.
Facilities: The gym is only available when the leasing office is open, unlike their sister property which has 24-hour access. The mailroom cameras are useless—packages are constantly stolen, and staff simply say they’re “looking for the person” but never provide solutions.
Maintenance: Requests take forever (sometimes weeks or more), and when they do show up, the work is often half-done. AC and heating frequently break down—if you want yours working, you need to submit a request before each season starts. Cleaning the bathroom is a hassle too; scrubbing or using regular cleaners can strip the paint right off the walls and tub.
Health & Safety: While living here, I constantly felt fatigued, swollen, and sick. After moving out, all of these symptoms went away, which makes me strongly suspect black mold was present in my unit.
Costs: Residents pay high monthly fees for water and sewage, yet when I moved to a nearby property with the same square footage, my bill dropped to only $27 a month. For the price here, you would expect much more than roaches, broken systems, and constant issues.
In short: poor maintenance, serious pest problems, questionable health conditions, landlord special repairs, and overpriced utilities make this place a nightmare to live in.

I had the pleasure of touring this property. The leasing agents were out with other people. So the property manager Ashley actually showed me around. That’s the first time a property manager took the time to show me around a property. She was very kind and expert on the property. Not only that but the local attractions, things to do, and even some good restaurants in the area. If you’re looking for a cool place to live in Atlanta without going downtown..…… Stop by the Whitney and ask for Ashley!
