- DGDestinee GolayOct 26, 20252.0I’ve had my home from Clayton Homes for exactly one year. I purchased it as a young first-time homebuyer, and unfortunately, the experience has been very disappointing. Within the first year, I’ve had multiple issues and noticed a lot of inconsistencies in the build quality. The trim isn’t flush in several areas, there are visible caulked holes, and both my master tub doors and sliding door have come off their tracks and broken. One of the outlets in a bedroom is now hanging from the wall, unaligned knobs and the list goes on. My home even has a ventilation switch that has never worked — and despite being told someone would come fix it, no one ever did. When I first moved in, the trim and seams were noticeably unfinished. I was promised that someone from Clayton would return to fix these issues, but that never happened. They say they’ll come back to make things right, but in my experience, they don’t follow through. I’m thankful this isn’t my forever home because I would be extremely disappointed if it were. The homes may look nice at first glance, but the quality and longevity just aren’t there. If you’re buying with long-term plans in mind, I’d strongly suggest thinking twice.
