I lived at Mission Bay Apartments in Rockledge/Viera, FL from August 30, 2024 through December 26, 2025. Although my lease officially ended on September 1, 2025, I remained in the unit until my move-out date due to unresolved lease renewal and management issues. I initially chose this property because of the affordable rent, convenient location, and spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom layout. I did not experience any issues with neighbors, parking, amenities, or safety. However, my overall experience was significantly impacted by poor management, delayed maintenance, and a persistent German roach infestation.
The lease renewal process was extremely disorganized. After submitting renewal documents in April 2025, I received no follow-up for months. My paperwork was later reported as “lost,” requiring resubmission, followed by long periods of no communication. In November 2025, I was abruptly told I had multiple corrections to complete immediately due to an audit and was threatened with eviction despite the office’s prolonged inaction and high staff turnover. At the same time, I had several unresolved maintenance issues, including a non-functioning dryer, a stove with a frayed and sparking power connection, and a failing air conditioning unit. While some repairs were eventually made, the AC issue persisted for weeks and required a temporary window unit that did not adequately cool the apartment. The central AC was not replaced until December 11, 2025.
The most serious issue was the ongoing German roach infestation, which existed from early in my tenancy through move-out. Despite maintaining a clean household and submitting service requests, the infestation worsened, with roaches, larvae, and eggs present throughout the unit. This was not a cleanliness issue but a property-wide problem that was never adequately resolved and ultimately made the unit an unhealthy environment for my children and me. Due to the continued mismanagement, lack of communication, unresolved pest issues, and delayed maintenance, I chose not to renew my lease and moved out on December 26, 2025. While the unit size and location were positives, they do not outweigh the ongoing management and habitability concerns. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Mission Bay Apartments.
